"We have enjoyed dining at this restaurant before, but yesterday we decided to try the Beef Roast. The beef itself was delicious, but the roast potatoes appeared to be frozen and the portion of cauliflower cheese was minimal. The stuffing ball was hard and dry. The Coke tasted strange, possibly due to the drink lines being cleaned. After drinking it, I felt bloated and have been experiencing abdominal discomfort and an upset stomach since."

"Where do I even begin? The service from the woman behind the bar was shocking. When I inquired about dairy-free options for my son, I was told that nothing could be modified and that they don't cater to allergies at all! I pointed out the menu's claim that they could accommodate such needs, but my concerns were met with an eye roll. I then tried to order him some chips, but was told they were fried in the same oil as dairy and meat products, and since we are vegetarian, that wouldn't work. I asked about the vegan dishes, only to learn that they are also prepared alongside meat products, so there's no guarantee they would actually be vegan. At this point, my daughters had already become excited about eating out and the play area, so I reluctantly decided to go along with it and ordered three sandwiches on granary bread and a child's fish and chips. My son had a packet of crisps. When the sandwiches arrived, they were absolutely terrible. The cheese and onion sandwich consisted of two slices of cheap store-bought bread, some pre-grated cheese, and a few onion slices—without even a hint of butter! It certainly wasn’t inexpensive; we paid £45 for four soft drinks, three sandwiches, and a child's meal. As for the play area, it was concerning—there were sharp screws poking through the wood chips, loose sharp fixtures on top of the slide, and a large exposed electric cable under the swings! We decided to leave swiftly; it was such a disappointing way to end our holiday, when it should have been a lovely final meal before heading home. I was appalled by their attitude towards me—I felt like an inconvenience. The food was awful, and I genuinely recommend avoiding this place if you are vegan or have allergies; even if a dish is labeled vegan, they certainly don’t take the necessary precautions to keep it separate from meat products. It’s truly unfortunate, as the location by the river is beautiful, and we were all so excited to be there, but we left feeling very disappointed. We definitely won't be returning."

"Firstly, I do sympathise with anyone in the service industry during COVID times. What an unbelievably disheartening period to go through. We often visit Willows, especially when the childrens room was open (hope it comes back soon We also ordered a fair few lockdown treats...from them and have been back since they re-opened. That being said, the recent price increases are quite shocking (even Brexit/Pandemic aside) breakfast is about more expensive now and when you start paying for a family of three, you do expect top service and food. The food is good (though has not improved with the pricing) still the occassional overdone sausage/egg, but mostly no complaints. The service though could be a lot faster and to the one waitress that never smiles, you are in the wrong profession I'm afraid. Those price increases are on top of the government support in terms of a VAT rate instead of (although temporary) means that profits are up which does leave a bitter taste. However, we will still likely return as it was a favourite haunt and we're a bit short on good alternatives on this side of the city!"

"Need to change their name to the Polar inn as their food is nothing but frozen tasteless rubbish. Burgers can’t be cooked to order because they're frozen, mozzarella cheese dripping in grease, undercooked garlic bread (how do you even get that wrong) kids dippers dry and gross ! completely over priced! I would have complained to the crew of teenagers but they made me feel like I was in the wrong when asking for a side of dip! Complete waste of money, it’s so dated and it’s obvious you only really care about your senior citizens who probably still tip because half their taste buds are missing and it’s probably easy for them to chew on your mushy burgers"

"In 11 years on this estate I’ve only had one breakfast here and I think it was buffet style then Aug 2015) but can’t be sure. My wife and I had a large breakfast and the kids had 3 X kids breakfasts £3.75). The large breakfasts really are quite huge, 4 sausages, 4 Hash browns, 2 rashers of bacon, 2 eggs, 1 piece of white toast wish they had choice of brown or seeded) and beans. My wife got less beans than the kids for some reason, so not consistent with the sizes, but overall a decent brekkie and the cappuccinos were lovely!! I’m so pleased they allow dogs now, it makes it much more viable to visit."
