The carbonara is very good and the place is quiet. The presentations of the dishes are good.

Good appetizers and excellent meats. But I have to thank for the pleasure of the wild boar at the vault. Really amazing.

We were here myself and my boyfriend; although we were without reservation the kind waiter asked us to wait and found a table in the tavern. We took an appetizer of Tartare and a first (for me Volterrana soup and for my boyfriend pappardelle with white chianina ragù: all really very good and the price is fair to the quality of the products. I think bypassing from Volterra we will book a table! Good boys.

You may see in the attached receipts what we eat. The pasta PICI CINTA was good, but... GNUDI BURRO were nr. 3 small ravioli no larger than a spoon: 11,50€ absolutely unacceptable ! Don’t take it. No taste, no quality, a nonsense dish. We were still hungry. But the “coperto”, that is something mysterious/unclear. It should be made of gold as it is 2,50€ for each of us: that is 10,00€ for something that we did not have and that was totally worthless. Ask what is Coperto, and evaluate what you get back. Too expansive for what we have taken. I would not come back.

We were looking for El Pozzo Degli Etruschi which is opposite and sat at their table but really it was closed even though it was open if you get my drift. Owned by same company, end of season, just use the one kitchen. Waiter was very helpful, food was very average. A dish billed as a soufflé arrived in a couple of mins, clearly been sitting around and not a soufflé in my understanding. Overall some of it was dull, most was not memorable, pork dish was dry with nothing to help it not be dry. Around 95 which seems to be the going rate for us with a couple of glasses of wine.
