"I’m a huge fan of Thai food so seeing this listed on Happy Cow made me resonate with excitement. We made sure to squeeze in a Friday night visit around other commitments. The veg tempura is excellent, coated in a delicious thick batter. We also ordered green and red tofu curries, one with sticky jasmine rice and the other with chips. They were both excellent and what I’d expect a Thai curry to be like not packed with cheap and tasteless onion or pak choi fillers. All the vegetables used here are good quality and the tofu was chunky, succulent and oozing with flavour absorbed from the curry sauce. I’m sure anyone visiting will be impressed. Make sure you phone ahead to book your collection slot as they do get busy."

"I recently visited the Sunday Market at South Shields and decided to stop by Suzies cafe for a coffee. After finding a parking space, my husband went to order while I enjoyed a hot vegetable soup. Both of our choices were really enjoyable. As we sat in the car, we noticed a car pulling into a disabled bay without a disabled badge and not paying. As a disabled person myself, I always make sure to display my badge. Soon after, another car parked next to us in a regular bay without paying as well. As we were leaving, we saw two traffic wardens approaching the cars and hoped that they would get a ticket."

"The food at this restaurant is absolutely stunning. Each course was exceptional. The staff were attentive, polite, and made sure all of our requests were taken care of. The service was quick and flawless. I highly recommend dining here for dinner. The price per person ranges from £50-60. The food, service, and atmosphere all deserve a perfect score of 5. I recommend trying the Blackened Tuna with Corn Salsa and Sweet Potato Fries, Scallops with Black Pudding, and the Slow Cooked Beef with Mash."

"We have been eating here on a regular basis for a while now. We have taken friends as well as just going as a couple. It is positioned above the Jolly sailor pub so beware there are stairs to climb. There are seats as you enter along with a bar and a room at the back as well. Paula has a wonderful display of photographs from Italy on display to give it a more authentic feel.We have always been warmly welcomed by the staff and you definitely should book to avoid disappointment, they do have a lot of regulars.We have also visited on special occasions such as Halloween, Valentine's Day and new Year's Eve. On these occasions there are always additions to the usual menu or in the case of NYE a set menu which had to be pre ordered.There are always home made bread buns awaiting you followed by another treat on the house. The menu is varied and there is always a specials blackboard. The starter selection is varied but if you plan a dessert go hungry as the starters are definitely not mean portions.We have tried pretty much all the menu between us and whether your taste is pizza, pasta, meat or fish you will not be disappointed. A dish of either veg of gorgeous chunky chips comes with your main from the meat and fish and a side of salad is enough for two should you opt for that.The desserts are very reasonably priced and often have a seasonal special on them. Coffees are a good price and the wine selection is varied and again a decent price. There are a few typically Italian cocktails on offer too.At the end of the meal you are offered a digestif to set you on your way. We have been in a large group for an outing and they cope steadily with delivery of the meals to all without a long gap.The real draw is the friendly welcome and the kindness the staff display along with the obvious hard work to please the customers.Alex has a dry wit and is delighted if you have a good evening.There is a happy hour from 5 with 25% off menu prices.It is closed on a Sunday except for special occasions."

"We went here for an anniversary because my partner recommended it, she's been here before. We got the Asiana banquet for two. I was a little bit hesitant because a) I'm not a big fan of Chinese food and b) I thought we might have been paying too much. Boy was I wrong. The food was plentiful, I'm a big guy and I was in a food coma by the end of it but satisfyingly so. Right from the start the food was rich, delicious and the variety was surprising. Duck, beef, chicken, prawns... All cooked to perfection. Highly recommend the deep fried crispy chicken with salt and pepper chips. MVP was the curry sauce, absolutely superb. Service was excellent. Fast and the server was actually hilarious. Didn't overstay his welcome or make it awkward and kept the food coming pretty efficiently. 5/5 for service. Really nice folk. My only gripe and this is a small one is that the atmosphere could do with some better lighting. Maybe some table candles or lights. That's just me though. Overall a fantastic experience and we'll be back for sure."
