Lovely morning for breakfast, only serving the buffet breakfast but it was nice. Claire was really accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us.

We were served by Emma, who was very polite, pleasant, and efficient. The whole family enjoyed our experience and we will definitely be returning in the future.

Food was absolutely gorgeous! Alison and ruby were really attentive to every need of ours. Lovley and cosy restaurant and very clean! My children loved the play area. Me and my family will definitely be back! Thanks again Dearne valley staff Ver carta

We stopped here after visiting mum in care home. We both had the standard midweek carvery and I must say, the choice of vegetables was fantastic. Meat was melt in the mouth soft and all food was hot. Will definitely be back next time we visit.

Carvery consistently meets expectations and the staff go above and beyond to provide excellent service. Unfortunately, some customers are quick to criticize without considering the hard work of the hospitality staff. It is important to remember to treat them with respect. I witnessed a couple being rude to a young staff member, but she remained professional and handled the situation admirably.

This was our third year running going for Christmas lunch at Dearne Valley, and it was lovely as usual. Service was efficient and very friendly. Special mention to Alison. She was lovely when we booked and was very helpful and welcoming. She also came over to speak to us a few times throughout the day to check everything was OK. We went for a birthday breakfast with friends on Christmas Eve. Since it was bookings only and they knew how many to expect and the times to expect them, they were miserably unorganised. The breakfast buffet was poor, items were constantly running out and the toast was cremated. The bacon very salty, the scrambled egg was grey. No one on the bar so had to wait ages to get served. We've been a number of times before but not for breakfast. We'll not be repeating the breakfast experience anytime soon.

Didn't intend to eat, just a central place to meet up for drinks but then decided to grab something after all. We ordered separately but within minutes of each other for same table. The food came at staggered intervals. I had the steak which came with frozen chips and onion rings. The peas were shrivelled and dying. The wife had macaroni cheese in a very shallow dish which had obviously been sitting a while. Tasteless and bland. My friend had a carvery which she wasn't particularly impressed with and my other friend had a chicken dish which was ok. I previously left a 5-star review for this restaurant, but today was a different experience. There was no staff present when we wanted to place our order. I asked a lady sitting down (who turned out to be a dining room assistant) if she could help, but she said she had not started yet. We waited for 10 minutes with a child for someone to attend to us at the carvery or at least to let us know how long we would have to wait. By the time someone finally came to clear our table, my cup of tea and two meals were cold. The dining room assistant seemed disgruntled and did not ask if our food was alright.
