"Six of our family met up at The Old Butchers, Fishlake for breakfast. It has now moved next to The Hare and Hounds Fishlake. This has not affected the friendly service and atmosphere at all, with the same owners and staff. There was a good choice for everyone. I had fried breakfast, with tea and toast, enough toast to have lashings of lovely marmalade on. Our daughters both had Eggs Benedict, which looked great, and, I am assured , was very tasty. The food was great value, and I am looking forward to our next visit."

"We dined at this restaurant last year and were very impressed with both the food and service. Because we had such a great experience, we decided to book a table again today to celebrate a birthday. My father-in-law has high standards, but he couldn't find anything wrong with the food, although he mentioned that the portions might be a bit large. Regardless, he and the rest of us really enjoyed our meals. As someone who is intolerant to garlic, I was pleased that the chef prepared a fresh sauce for the stuffed chicken I ordered. It was delicious, and I had no issues after eating, which was reassuring. A big thank you to all the staff for providing a lovely evening and meal. We definitely plan to return soon. Thanks again!"

"We went for Sunday lunch with four generations of our family. I had made a reservation in advance and was given a general idea of where we would be seated. When we arrived at around 1pm, the place was bustling, but we received a warm welcome and were promptly shown to our table. A hospitable waitress gave us the choice to order drinks immediately or to wait for the rest of our family to arrive. She also explained the unique and very effective food ordering system. She double-checked my 90-year-old father's order after we placed it, sharing a joke with him while remaining patient and respectful of his age. The food arrived in a reasonable time, despite the busy atmosphere, and was served hot, flavorful, and in generous portions. We were offered additional gravy and asked multiple times if we wanted more. Some of us indulged in dessert or coffee, both of which were top-notch. Overall, this is a charming pub/restaurant with outstanding, efficient, and friendly staff who serve high-quality food. We will certainly be returning."

"Wonderful first visit, we’ll be back. I’ve heard positive things about this little place and called in because my son really needed a treat. He had a simple scoop of vanilla in a tub with sauce, I went for chocolate orange in a waffle cone. Delicious! Our bill was about £5 but we could easily have been ‘up sold’ more. Pictures of a strawberry sundae would have persuaded us to spend twice as much. But we don’t see any images. Being able to see take out tubs would have persuaded us to treat the family. We arrived ten minutes before closing time on a sunny Saturday and we were made to feel very welcome in the immaculately clean place. The young lady who served us busied herself by cleaning windows as we ate… a lovely indication of the high standards of cleanliness. And I’d like to thank her for lovely service with a smile when she must have been thinking it was almost the end of the shift! I’ve posted a photo of the location because I didn’t know where this little gem was."
