Service was good. However prices high for what you get. Ie Expensive burgers and chips

Went for a birthday meal, fabulous view from table, really fresh cooked food, an explosion of taste. One if the best meals I've had!

Always a great welcome and service, any time of year. Best fish and chips ever. Visited again to night and had the Linguine, the Fritto Misto as well as the aforementioned Fish and Chips. All superb!

Had a lovely meal with my family over Easter weekend. We had a mix of main courses (steak, fish and chips, prawn pasta) all of which people enjoyed. Nice bottle of wine and some deserts. All restaurants in Salcombe are pricey but if you want to eat in town then this is a nice place!

Phoned them two days consecutively, leaving a message each time for a table booking. Ask them to call me back, whether it was possible or not.......no one bothered to call me back, called them a 3rd time on third day and was told they always return phone calls.......well I am afraid , YOU DO NOT !!! Nice place. Lots of young staff, food was good but overpriced....£29 for a small bowl of king prawn linguine is in the fine dining bracket. At least they didn't over cook the prawns. Left hungry and £130 lighter in the wallet. Got Ice creams on the way home . Food was 4 star but overall am giving it 3 due to price. 2 adults and 2 kids crammed onto a single table (normally used for 2) too many glasses on the table, water jug and more turned it into a game of chess. Pretty sure pricing was just to keep the commoners out.

We have been coming here for many years, but our most recent visit was an excellent meal on the first day of our last vacation. When we arrived at the apartment above the restaurant, the burglar alarm was going off, which must have been annoying for the staff and diners as it seemed to last forever. Fortunately, it stopped around 10 minutes after we arrived, to a round of applause. Huge kudos to the staff for handling the situation with grace. We sat outside, which was a lovely setting in the early evening. The menu appeared to be the same as it has been for the past 5 years, but when the food is this good, who cares?

We had high hopes but what an expensive disappointment. We had mains and drinks. I have to say the fritto Misto was bland and boring. The only flavour was in the Asian salad that accompanied this dish. The sole and squid dipped and cooked in temporary batter added nothing to this dish. The ‘Famous fish and chips’ were ok, nothing special really with a pea purée that had a little spice added to lift the price. The chips in a little bucket, why? The overcooked dregs of the chip fryer hidden under the main batch of chips. Really sorry but £83 for this meal two glasses of wine a gin and tonic is really taking liberties. This place is over priced and trying to be something better than it is. The... Ver carta
