"We were fortunate to walk in to this restaurant on its 5th night of being open. The staff were very attentive without being overbearing, and the chef came out to explain what we were eating. As I can only speak English, our versatile waiter had...to translate the chefs explanations for me, which he did exceptionally. The food left me speechless in my gastronomic heaven. Having dined in many Japanese restaurants in Australia and Japan, the food here had all the key ingredients of fine Japanese dining together with the local flavours of northern Germany. What an amazing combination! From the amazingly tender octopus, the scallops cooked in hay ash, to the lip tingling stinging nettle dessert, I was transported to a whole new world of dining. My German fellow diner had not previously tried any Japanese food and bravely tried all the dishes we ordered (including sashimi of north sea fish!! and was pleasantly surprised by the different flavours. The chef even developed an individual dessert for her as she was allergic to the apple in my dessert. The menu is limited to mostly seafood, but the small selection of dishes offers something for everyone. This is a restaurant that will not disappoint if you are prepared to pay for quality foods and unique flavours. The next time I am in Hamburg I will definitely return here to dine."

Friday, we were in your restaurant. great atmosphere, not a big menu total suppi. very nice advice to the foods, eat super tasty, the chuck was super great also the black kartoffeln as well as the pulpo.

I was invited to attend to family/community party. I am totally sad, why I find this toll restaurant too late. Everything was great, tasty food, complete bar with different drinks, very clean services and lovely design. I will never forget friendly staff and their top...service.

we had the surprise menu that is an amazing five-course menu. the quality of each schirrs was far beyond my expectations and the service was very friendly and friendly. the atmosphere of the place is “upscale” casual, absolutely relaxed. especially thanks to the chef, as. for feedback in person super positiw kerl. thanks for a delicious evening!

we had a business lunch, went to the restaurant. waited for 20 minutes, no one even came to say, sorry youngs, we are full. waiter worked all the time, but with this size of the restaurant 3 waiter. is simply not enough. couple who sat before us (and before us) waited for 30 minutes to get the menu. that is simply not acceptable. the food looked delicious, but because of the (no) service I do not recommend.

Those will be two reviews. Die Gute Botschaft opened as a lunch restaurant. As such, I can recommend it--a small menu, a huge salad bar, fast and attentive service. Nothing unusual, but a good place to have a fast business lunch.. unless you plan to...discuss serious business matters, because guest are placed on larger tables, thus neighbours might overhear your conversation. Recently, Die Gute Botschaft is also serving dinner in the evening. The concept is a crossover of Japanese and Northern German cuisine.
