"We reached Zurich on a cold afternoon and was looking for a cozy, hot meal as we were famished. We happened to find this place near our hotel which was just a short bus ride away. It’s a small place, run by two very sweet Sri Lankan women. They greeted us warmly and served us some delicious food. We ordered idiyappam with chicken curry and chicken kotthu roti. It was absolutely mouthwatering! I personally am not a fan of kotthu roti but this has made me change my mind. We’re South Indians and the food hit close to home. Always a pleasure to see countries united by similar tastes! We also ordered masala chai which was strong just the way we like! Full stars for this lovely place! A definite recommend for those who love spicy food or wanting to try South Asian cuisine."

Good quality South Indian food. They ask you how spicy you would like your curry to be and if you say real spicy then you get a very authentic level of spicyness!

Very snobbish and impolite young man happened to be the son of the owner. We were very upset how he treated us . Since four of my friends wanted to eat the Dosa at all cost , I give him a go this time. The owner lady was not so nice at the beginning as well but after that fight we were actually asking her a permission for five of us to seat outside with the three small tables so that we can eat comfortably beside it’s already around 13:30 and there is almost no customers was nicer to us . The Food Dosa was delicious and we ended up eating 9 Dosa sets and a meat rice dish as well as sweet teas . Food is 4. 5 but the service and customer friendliness is 0.

I had mixed feelings. First I should say that I don’t have a baseline specifically for Sri Lankan food. Although I do for Malaysian, Indian, and other ares of south east Asia. I got Roti and curry with chicken. Good: the vegetables were delicious and had great flavor! The price was really good and you got a good amount of food. The staff was very nice and friendly. Not so good: I found the roti to be really dense, especially as it cooled down, it was overly doughy and heavy. I am used to roti prata which is light and buttery. The curry was a little bit too sweet for me. I like bold strong flavors and was hoping for a more robust curry. Overall it was good and if you are looking for a filling...

"This is my fav Italian joint in Zurich. La Famiglia Tremonte is a small, family run cafe-restaurant that serves excellent and authentic Italian food at prices that are low compared to the norm in Zurich.Famiglia Tremonte is rather inconspicuously located at the corner of Zurlindenstrasse and Birmensdorferstrasse, a couple of doors away from The Desperado Mexican Restaurant. You might need to look for it a little: I lived practically next door and did not notice it for almost a year, and even then a friend had to point it out to me.The restaurant is mostly a takeout with very little seating, i.e. 7 people inside, and when the weather is goo, about 5 people outside. The ambience is basic but, like most things in Switzerland, the interiors are very clean. Staff and service are very goo. The food here is awesome! Authentic Italian fare that is probably heavily influenced by Sicilian tradition since that is where the family is from. I used to visit almost every day because the food tastes great and the prices are so low for Zurich. I have tried almost everything: several pasta dishes, polpettine, stuffed bell peppers, meatloaf, piadina, and of course, the fabulously tasty and hot chilli infused EVOO. I enjoyed every dish I ordered. Great stuff! I strongly recommend the super-hot chilli infused EVOO as a seasoning for almost all dishes, but especially the pasta dishes that come in a cream sauce. Please be careful with chilli EVOO: 0.5 tbsp. for noobs, and a max. of 2 tbsp. for those who like it hot. The chilli EVOO, when used appropriately, adds great flavour to your dish. The piadina is the best I have eaten - period. I have been all over the world, spent a lot of time in Italy and New York (: great place for Italian food lovers :), and I still think this is the best piadina ever. They also serve some nice Italian desserts -- I've tried a few but have forgotten the names. They also have a small selection of Italian ingredients for sale. I bought the pesto and was happy with it. You also get a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic Italian drinks to go with the food.Prices are relatively low by Zurich standards: I rarely ever ate for more than CHF 15, and if I skipped the drinks it was usually around CHF 10. Of course, this varies a bit according to what you order.Highly recommended. Glad I found this place. Great for office workers in the vicinity."
