"When a restaurant claims it features comfort food, I always have a bit of skepticism towards their product. It's easy to throw together a bunch of fat and carbs into dishes and mask poor quality. That's not the case at DooBop. After walking around Barcelona...all morning, my girlfriend and I worked up an appetite, so seeing a place that features comfort food' sounded very promising. We started with their fried avocado as an appetizer. The sauce, onions, and breading were a perfect mix of tangy, sweet, and savory. We ordered the smoked salmon BLT and their chicken and waffles for the main course. The chicken and waffles is the best dish I've had in Europe to remind me of home. The breading was perfect, and the chicken was juicy. They know how to prep chicken and fry at the correct temperature to get that perfect mix of crunch and moisture. The syrup and jalapenos gave the dish an awesome sweet and spicy flavor. I'm not used to jalapenos on chicken and waffles, but it gave it a complexity not typically found in this dish. They nailed it. The salmon BLT had fresh salmon, and the bacon's texture was impeccable and not too oily. It gave the sandwich just enough crunch and didn't overpower the flavor of the salmon. For dessert, we had a slice of pecan pie that brought me straight back to Texas. The only thing that would have made it purely Texan would have been a scoop of Blue Bell Ice Cream instead of their fantastic in-house ice cream. The service was fantastic, and we got a nod from the chef in the back for the compliments. It's always nice to see humility coming from the kitchen. I hope they keep it up, and we'll be back the next time we come into Barcelona. Also, we're looking forward to the social media updates on when their gumbo will make a return. As good as the food was, I'll take a train ride into Barcelona just to try it."

¿Comida cómoda en Barcelona? Lo tienes. Buen ambiente, buena banda sonora e incluso mejor comida. El postre fue encantador así que no te saltes.

La hamburguesa de pollo estaba bastante buena, con sabores muy agradables. Por otro lado, uno de los empleados parecía simplemente estar cansado de trabajar, lo cual puede pasarle a muchos de nosotros. ¡Pero todo lo demás estuvo genial!

Waited for an hour for our modest order. Totally clueless staff. So-so food. Tiny portions. We asked for the hot taco sauce for our kid aside but that apparently was beyond their ability so tacos were inedible. Just beware. The place next door, Menssana is...a marvel. How one can bungle comfort food like that is beyond me.

Our meal at DooBop was our last meal on our holiday in Barcelona and it was a great way to finish! We arrived just after 12:30 and was greeted by a lovely member of staff. He made us feel welcome and we had a great...chat throughout! He recommended the beef tacos and the wings and they didn’t disappoint! We definitely recommend popping down to DooBop if you’re in Barcelona!

that was a surprise. in @doobop_bcn I could not expect and I was very surprised. great refreshing dishes. the most delicious salads that had this very Hawaiian /Japanese note. followed by some really beautiful Mexican / American wings and waffeln with. fried shicken. it's a great one. the location is very refreshing and modern. we have everything here, so let's go and have more and I can tame it better on the way

Hace aproximadamente 2 veranos, me topé con este lugar al azar mientras pasaba caminando, ¡y me alegré mucho de haberlo hecho! La comida, el servicio y el ambiente eran increíbles. Pedí un plato clásico americano, y lo que recibí fue como una versión más sofisticada de lo que encontrarías en un diner americano. Ubicado en Poblenou. Realmente me gustó su menú creativo. Pero la razón principal por la que fui a Doo Boo fue para probar su Pollo Frito con Waffles y Sirope de Arce. Ese es mi plato favorito y no es fácil de encontrar en Barcelona. El pollo frito cajún estaba increíble y el gofre también estaba perfecto, lo convirtió en uno de los mejores que he probado hasta ahora. La carne de la hamburguesa era sabrosa y el pan era dulce. Me gustó el sabor de los tacos de carne, eran un poco picantes pero sabrosos.
