Fancied a pizza, arrived and was seated, didn’t receive menus or any contact from staff for another 10mins. Then ordered and waited 20min so for drinks to come then food was a further 20mins. Don’t know if it was because we didn’t speak German or order the expensive wine, but we felt like we weren’t welcome. We would have walked at start only my son didn’t want the embarrassment. Leider nicht zu empfangen. Wie wollten gemütlich zu Abendessen, zuerst sehr lange darauf gewartet das man bedient wird obwohl es nur 3 andere Gäste gab.als die leicht bekleidete Dame mit übermäßig langen Nägeln (sehr hygienische)endlich aufmerksam wurde auf uns.Wir bestellten Nudeln und Rinderfilet Medium.Nudeln waren sehr Salzig und etwas hart,das Filet war so gut wie Roh auf Rückgabe und bitten das Fleisch durchzubraten kam es 15 Minuten später zurück im gleichen Zustand. Sehr sehr schade für 35 Euro Filet nichts gegessen und sehr unfreundliche Bedienung mit Unverständnis.

What an absolute gem of a restaurant found right in the centre of Berlin. It’s 2 mins from the Westin Grand where we were staying. The food is outstanding, the service wonderful and weird and memorable. It was so good we ended up there twice. The second time we went, we were greeted like family and the food was even better than the first time. Marcus our waiter (I really hope we’ve remembered his name correctly) brings the right amount of attention and theatre to the table he’s an asset and hilarious. If you want good, simple Italian food, done well, this is the place for you.

Yesterday evening, I went with my family to eat at Calice D‘oro, hoping for a lovely time with my family. When we ordered our food, an old waiter was passive aggressive towards us as we didn’t know how to speak German or Italian but English. We let it slide as we still managed to place our order and just hoped it was a one-time thing. After I ordered, I realized I was pointing at the wrong dish on the menu card, so I immediately went to the waiter to change my order in hopes that I wouldn’t be stressing the kitchen. When I asked the waiter, he started to shout in (assuming Italian), to which I, in response, replied with “sorry” multiple times. That apparently wasn’t enough for him as he look... Ver carta
