"Decided to try the Crown in Fakenham as they do a Carvery on a Sunday, but what swayed us even more to go there was they allow dogs and there is a Dog Menu. We did phone a couple of days before to make sure we would get a table, which was in the bar because we were taking our dog. On arrival the staff were very friendly and welcoming and showed us to our table. We ordered drinks non alcoholic for me and a coke for the wife, and ordered and paid for our Carvery at the same time. Our dog had a Carvery too he could choose between Beef or Turkey, he had the Turkey with roast spuds, veg and Yorkshire pudding obviously no gravy. I went to the restaurant to get our meals, today's meat choice were Beef, Gammon, Turkey and Pork with Crackling very nice too. I decided that we would have a bit of every meat and it was cooked to perfection. Then you moved along the counter there were roast spuds, roast Parsnips, stuffing balls, big Yorkshire puddings, Cauliflower Cheese. Moving further along were the veg, Peas, Broccoli, Carrots, Red Cabbage, Sweet Corn and French Beans. Obviously there was Gravy and all the Condiments that accompany the Meats. To be honest our plates were big but they couldn't cope with the amount of food piled on them. The food was very nice and hot everything was cooked very well and really tasty and the prices were very reasonable Adult Carvery £12.95 and the Dog Carvery was £3.95 which came in a big dog bowl full to the top. If we are still in the area next week we will be booking again, highly recommend The Crown's Sunday Carvery."

"On holiday in Norfolk we tried several pubs, this was defiantly my favourite. There was 11 of us, best food, good choice, service was excellent, nothing to much trouble. It is way out in the open but well worth the travelling. We all had different dishes , all was cooked to perfection . "I stayed overnight at this charming mill and pub built in 1757, which has been modernized to ensure a comfortable experience. The menu was surprisingly diverse and exceeded the usual offerings. I highly recommend the slow-cooked pork belly accompanied by dauphinoise potatoes. The dessert menu is extensive, with all items priced reasonably. The service was also excellent, with friendly smiles throughout. In the morning, we enjoyed a full English breakfast before heading out for a walk in Blakeney, followed by a long journey back home to West Sussex."

"Would have given zero stars had that been possible. Booked well in advance. Kept waiting with three other couples for a good 10 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Shown to our table to find a party of guests still eating/drinking. Went to another table to find cleaning products and dirty cloth on table. The gentleman at the door was absolutely out of his depth and had little or no management training. Door notice said they were accepting only bookings, everyone else turned away due to lack of staff. If there was only limited staff on that evening why did no-one think to cancel bookings/rebook customers for another time. Staff completely overwhelmed and stressed. This place needs strong management and leadership. It really is a complete shambles. GIVE IT A MISS.Needless to say our party of four walked out in disgust."

"We were staying fairly nearby in Wells-Next-The-Sea for a little weekend break fancied our favourite, Sunday night lamb chicken shish keebab fix, but failed to locally locate a venue of that type; so good old google tripadvisor came to the rescue as we stumbled across the Marmaris Grill, in Fakenham, about 8 miles away, along never-ending, dimly lit, country lanes. But boy, was it worth the drive, ohhhhh yesss!!! Firstly, we were thrilled to spot the 5/5 hygiene rating, proudly displayed in the window we were immediately welcomed in a super friendly helpful fashion by the takeaway team; there’s no eat-in no delivery! The meat keebabs various salad ingredients, including red cabbage were neatly presented within the chilled fridge, display counter everything looked really appetising of superb quality. One chicken lamb shish combo with salad chilli sauce one mixed meat keebab (chicken, lamb, donner, kofta with salad was the order of the day, with a portion of fries whilst we waited, we chatted to a lovely couple whom split their time between France UK loved hearing their tales of adventure across the water. The meat was all beautifully chargrilled, really tender flavoursome; the chilli sauce packed a punch but didn’t blow your head off the salad was really fresh, plentiful crisp most helpfully, the toasted Pitta had been wrapped separately from the salad the meat to avoid a soggy bottom! This was particularly helpful given our 10/15 minute return journey to devour our late night feast We would highly recommend definitely return when next up on the Norfolk coast; it was all round excellence satisfied the most seasoned, keebab followers!
