"*Updated review* The last time I visited I didn’t have a great experience and as such left a poor and honest review. However I had heard good things from friends so I gave it a second try 10 months on. So fair is fair, it is only right I update my review. This time the food was nicely presented and very good. (Almost night and day from my last visit). The burger came with a nice side salad and fries. The fish and chips came with home made Chucky chips and generous portions. Based on my last visit I would recommend this place. Original review Bit of a disaster tonight. Came for a family meal and chose from the specials board. It was initially served with wraps until I pointed out it was advertised with rice. When the rice did come it was awful… and I mean inedible. It was more like mashed potato. My order was then kindly changed to a cheese burger and fries. The chips were not cooked through and raw and the bun was solid (as if it hadn’t quite been defrosted properly) I am surprised as I saw other burgers coming out of the kitchen with side salads and all nicely presented. Can only think that the kitchen was overstretched… on a positive the servers were very attentive and polite."

"Today Emma and I enjoyed a meal box from the Feathers. Ordered a couple of days before hand I collected, took home served our Northumberland charcuterie, braised beef and mash and apple tart 3 courses meal. These times have seen so many businesses struggling. I’m so pleased the likes of the Feathers has turned such difficulties into huge positives by offering customers something a little bit unique. I wholeheartedly suggest everybody gives this an opportunity to thrive by trying their menu."

"Been a few times now and I love it and will go back many more times and highly recommend it to anyone who'll listen. But I'd stay well away from the Sunday roast dinners. Their beautiful but you get NOWT! 2 roasties and a teaspoon of mash topped with a sliver of meat and a sprig of veg isn't worth 15 quid sorry. It's not about the money, Its just NOT a Sunday roast. Plates should be loaded in a lovely warm country pub like this. Everything else on the menu is MAHOOSIVE and delicious. Everything else about the place is sooo perfect. Staff. Atmosphere. Service. Everything. Go now. Just stick to the normal menu."

"For several months I drove passed a couple of Riverview signs on my way to visit my mum who lives in Hamsterly. On one visit, I thought I'd pop down into Blackhall Mill to see if I could get something tasty to have with a cup of tea... I wasn't disappointed. Fresh produce included: breads, cream cakes, biscuits, scones along with a large selection of savoury items.. can also pick up milk, fruit and veg. as well. Oh, they're also serve a limited menu of takeaway meals. Don't know why I'd left it so long to call in.. I now call in every time I visit mum. I'd def. recommend give the bakery a try.."

"We often visit Wheelbirks, it is my favorite place to go for a coffee with my baby to relax, especially by the fire in the cozy area. We go there every season, but my favorite is summer in the beautiful orchard where we can enjoy ice cream while the kids play in the garden and feed the donkeys, Hamish and Dougie. We have attended many events such as open farm days, Halloween hunts, and Santa's grotto where the kids received lovely gifts. The food is fresh, homemade, and delicious with plenty of options for the kids. Rain or shine, there is always something to do, including an indoor preschool area. The staff are accommodating and friendly, always helping me to my table with drinks when I have my hands full with my kids. The kids love choosing from the variety of homemade ice cream flavors. Whether we want coffee and cake or lunch, we are never disappointed. We always have a great family day out! On the way out, we always stop to look at the adorable jellycats for a little treat.
