El Mexicana - Carta

Nice to have some Mexican food nearby as there isn't that many. Fairly costly, however decent portions. Service could be quicker, though fairly it was busy.

I absolutely loved the burritos at this restaurant - so much so that I couldn't resist ordering two! The service was great and the food was delicious, not just the burritos.

Stopped at services,not intending to buy anything but saw this little outlet fancied a small helping of nachos!Not expensive.Something a bit different from usual services burger and chips type food. Ver carta

Delicious first experience i had a kids meal burrito and chips and it was delicious. Full of flavour the pulled pork with salsa and the chips super tasty. I will be definitely coming back to try this place again.

The food was served cold, almost as if it had been refrigerated! Even though I only live 5 minutes away, I had to microwave my meal. It took a while to be served and there were difficulties in getting our order across.

Stopped here at Sunday lunchtime just starting to get busy but the service was both friendly and very well conducted. Food hand made at the counter and plenty of questions to ensure everyone had exactly what they wanted. Great food far exceeded what I expected and everyone in my group felt the same would stop by there every day if it was closer. Thanks! Ver carta

El Mexicana is definitely my top choice restaurant at Baldock Services. Every time I have visited, the staff have been friendly. This last visit was even better - the man, who I later learned was named Brad, made my burrito just the way I liked it, ensuring I had everything I wanted. The service was exceptional, a perfect 10/10. It's rare to find workers who genuinely care about their work, but Brad certainly does. I hope to see him again on my future visits. Congratulations El Mexicana on a job well done.

I bought a quesadilla to take back to our camper van. It was very tasty but nothing like a real Mexican quesadilla. The real thing is cheese, and maybe chicken, sandwiched between two tortillas and served flat, sometimes cut into triangles, but this was full of peppers, onions, chicken, salsa, cheese etc and folded into a pocket to hold in the hand. It was really nice, and I'd order it again. It just wasn't what I thought I ordered on the day. Please rename this product it is really good, but it's not a quesadilla.

Food is SO bland and overpriced! They offered me sour cream and cheese to which I said no, they then said would I like guacamole instead so I said ok. When got to salad I asked for sweet corn they said that would be an extra 35p or something stupid considering you’re already paying like £6.60 for nothing but a wrap with veg chilli in it for my case. When I went to pay he told me the order was over £7 to which I asked why, he said he had charged me extra for the guacamole even though he never mentioned this would cost extra and he offered it as an alternative as I couldn’t have cheese or sour cream. The wrap was cold and not pleasant to eat. No flavour whatesoever and is an insult to Mexican... Ver carta
