"All dishes that we had (several kinds of tacos, and other sides) tasted of nothing but lime juice or chilli. Took ages for everything to come out we were told it was ‘as it was ready’, which is fine, but at the end we were sitting waiting for side salads that we ended up cancelling. Not really a restaurant either, more of a cafe. Very disappointing. Lots of reviews saying it’s ‘authentic’ but we found it anything but."

This restaurant is fantastic! The food is incredible, the cocktails are perfect, and I had one of the best burritos I've ever tasted.

Taco Tuesday is wonderful—excellent value and delicious tacos. However, it's always a good idea to call ahead to confirm they’re open since it’s a small independent restaurant. I've been caught off guard a few times! Ver carta

nearly walked past this funky little restaurant as not very noticeable but so glad we came in. flavoursome food and lovely cocktails in my favourite part of the city centre. Well worth a visit and Tuesday night tacos 241!

Absolutely wonderful! The food is incredible and priced very well. It's the best South American cuisine I've enjoyed since my trip to Chile eight years ago. After trying other Mexican-style restaurants in town, El Nido truly outshines them in both quality and value.

"Recommended to come here and eat before attending a concert. Found a table and sat down and after 10mins a waitress came and took our order which was our starters and mains. Starter arrived in good time we had the fireman's sharing board which was really nice and big enough for four people to share and our 2 for 1 cocktails also arrived in good time and were nice. Then after that it went downhill we waited over an hour after we had finished our starter for our mains I asked a waitress to see where our meals were when clearly we knew we had been forgotten about she never came back with an answer so with my patience wearing thin I asked a gentleman with a clip board who was directing people to tables . He said he would look into it and came over after about 5 mins to apologise it was their mistake and our order had been missed and offered us a free drink. My friend and I asked for a vodka and lemonade and another a Disarano and coke and a bottle of water which arrived within 6 minutes. Our vodka and lemonades had never seen vodka you couldn't taste it at all but my friend said he could taste his Disarano. We waited another 10 minutes and our mains arrived three of us had posh finger sandwiches and the other had a steak sandwich which she left as it was dripping in fat and the roll was barely baked. Our posh fish finger sandwiches were also dripping in fat with no taste we asked for extra tartar sauce to be told by a different waitress that its in the sandwich so in other words your not getting anymore. There was barely any in. We all ate them as we were hungry but they were poor. We asked for the bill and paid and went elsewhere for a cuppa. We know it was busy with being a pink concert on at the stadium of light I personally don't think there was enough staff on to cope with the volume of people so our first visit put us off from ever returning."

"We have been eating here on a regular basis for a while now. We have taken friends as well as just going as a couple. It is positioned above the Jolly sailor pub so beware there are stairs to climb. There are seats as you enter along with a bar and a room at the back as well. Paula has a wonderful display of photographs from Italy on display to give it a more authentic feel.We have always been warmly welcomed by the staff and you definitely should book to avoid disappointment, they do have a lot of regulars. We have also visited on special occasions such as Halloween, Valentine's Day and new Year's Eve. On these occasions there are always additions to the usual menu or in the case of NYE a set menu which had to be pre ordered. There are always home made bread buns awaiting you followed by another treat on the house. The menu is varied and there is always a specials blackboard. The starter selection is varied but if you plan a dessert go hungry as the starters are definitely not mean portions. We have tried pretty much all the menu between us and whether your taste is pizza, pasta, meat or fish you will not be disappointed. A dish of either veg of gorgeous chunky chips comes with your main from the meat and fish and a side of salad is enough for two should you opt for that. The desserts are very reasonably priced and often have a seasonal special on them. Coffees are a good price and the wine selection is varied and again a decent price. There are a few typically Italian cocktails on offer too.At the end of the meal you are offered a digestif to set you on your way. We have been in a large group for an outing and they cope steadily with delivery of the meals to all without a long gap.The real draw is the friendly welcome and the kindness the staff display along with the obvious hard work to please the customers.Alex has a dry wit and is delighted if you have a good evening. There is a happy hour from 5 with 25% off menu prices. It is closed on a Sunday except for special occasions."
