Had our dinner in coastguards tonight , food was nicely cooked , had extra large haddock which was on small size and my wife had cod roe which again was small .

travel to the island, they only have to fish chips for dinner. two cod and chips, chips, where exactly right, crack on the outside nice and fluffy inside, cod cooked to perfection gorgeous teig and the price, what is not on?

The waitress was friendly enough but the food was pretty poor. We went here as it was high rating here on tripadvisor but disappointed. Some items not available and when we received our food it was very disappointing. Chips were dry and tasteless even...after adding extra vinegar. It only has some Points for friendly waitress. a friend who has been to this beautiful place several times took me and my partner yesterday for the first time. from the moment we went, we felt comfortable, dear personal in a very clean caffe. the fish and chips were wonderful, certainly the best. we had served in a caffe for a very long time. warm and fresh. the prizes were very good and fair. No wonder that it celebrated its 80th year, since elliott opened it. we would highly recommend this wonderful jewel in hayling.

Bought a 1/4 pounder cheeseburger and chips. The worst I have ever eaten!! The cheeseburger was a dry and tasteless bun filled with just a small slice of processed cheese and a very average burger, that’s all. I got the distinct impression that the cook...has never been trained and lacks any flair or pride with his/her cooking. Took one bite , fed the rest to the seagulls and went to a local fish and chip shop for a DECENT meal. This place must make their money from visitors to the area as, in my view, if they were in a residential area where they would depend on repeat business, they wouldn’t last long.

We stopped here for dinner as part o a day trip to Hayling Island. You can do a takeaway (and many where) and walk over the road fo the beach to eat it. We chose to eat in and was quickly seated. The menu hokds...no real surprises and has all the old favourites. But, it does have a dessert menu which includes, omongst many treats, deep fried bananas. We all went old school with cod and chips and pue and chips. The food was spot on and the cod, we all agreed, was some of the best we have had in recent memory. Price wise it is fair but not cheap. Portions were plenty big enough and well presented. Highly recommended if you are on Hayling Island. Ver carta
