"We had heard great things about this restaurant for breakfast, so we decided to give it a try. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed. We cannot comment on the food because after waiting for over an hour with no sign of our order, we decided to leave. We were informed that the regular chef was on vacation, but we were not warned about the long wait for food. Despite our attempts to pay for our drinks and explain that we were leaving, the staff assured us that our food would be ready soon. However, we still chose to depart, along with several other couples who had also not received their food. It would have been helpful to have been informed upon arrival that there would be a significant wait for food so that we could have made an informed decision. It is disappointing that we did not have a positive experience, especially considering the peaceful ambiance of the balcony area. Unfortunately, we do not plan to return, and it is likely that others may feel the same way."

We went to see the seals and they were amazing. My kids loved watching them. I definitely recommend it. We all had a great time.

Love stopping off here for a bit of lunch or just a coffee before a walk. Can't wait to try it in the summer so we can sit outside with the lovely views. A little gem of a place!

Whilst out for a walk at the nearby RSPB reserve we stumbled across The Wardroom for a welcome coffee. As the food menu looked very enticing, we went back for lunch after finishing our walk. The food and beer were excellent! Also live music was there on a Saturday afternoon. A great find, we will be back. Ver carta

A fantastic location looking out across the river and countryside, and Covid measures have been well implemented (apart from the hand sanitiser outside the toilet being empty. Food was a huge disappointment, I do not expect to pay around £8 for a cheeseburger that would shame a burger van from the 1970's. Cheap, thin slurry burger was pretty awful. I would have thought the yachting fraternity demand more. Seeing the cook moving tables chairs around next to us while smoking a rollup completed the low-grade impression of the place.

We had a lovely afternoon on the balcony overlooking the river at this restaurant. The view was really beautiful. The lunch menu had a variety of options and the food was tasty, as was the service. Our conversation was momentarily interrupted by a strange individual who seemed to have been eavesdropping on us. After drinking two beers, he went on a bizarre rant before leaving. We hope he won't be there next time we visit. Despite this unexpected interruption, we enjoyed some delicious coffees and left feeling satisfied later in the afternoon. Overall, we highly recommend this place.

This is, we were told, under new management and it really is very good. My husband had scrambled eggs on toast (choice of bread and the granary looked lovely) from the all day breakfast menu and I had a chicken burger from the lunch menu big chunks of breast meat in a crispy coating with a generous portion of chips and sides. There is also a range of sandwiches and paninis if you don't want a full meal. The balcony looks out over the River Crouch. From earlier reviews, I suspect the previous cafe wasn't great but don't let them put you off based on our meal there today, this is worth a visit. Ver carta

My Wife Myself... Plus our dog, popped in on the offchance on Saturday afternoon for a drink.... I asked if we could bring the dog up onto the outside seating area, we were told, so long as he was on his lead well behaved he was welcome inside !...Originally we were just going to have a drink... But after the dog was given a free sausage the smell of cooking from the kitchen became too much to stand, we ordered food ourselves...Cajun Chicken Dirty Fries, and good old Sausage, Egg Chips.....All very tasty serves in warm cozy very friendly surroundings....Highly Recommended,,,, we will be back...soon!,

After reading an article recommending The Wardroom as a hidden gem, we decided to go there for breakfast. Unfortunately, it turned out to be a wasted trip. While the setting was lovely and relaxing, we were informed that the chef was away and the full menu was not available. We waited for 1 hour and 20 minutes for our breakfast to arrive, and eventually decided to leave after seeing two other tables do the same. We only paid for the drinks we had ordered an hour earlier. The ordering system was chaotic and the service quality was poor. Although the food we saw on other tables looked good, we cannot comment on it personally. We were disappointed as the setting was nice but the basics were lac...

"I recently had the pleasure of dining at SoPa Thai, and it was truly a delightful experience! The moment I walked in, the atmosphere transported me to a world of Thai sophistication and allure. The culinary exploration began with Tom Kha, a delightful combination of coconut milk, galangal, and lemongrass. Each spoonful was a delicious harmony of creamy and zesty flavors that perfectly complemented the tender chicken pieces. It wasn't just soup; it felt like a warm embrace in a bowl. Next, the beautifully presented Green Curry arrived. The curry was a work of art, filled with the richness of green chilies and fragrant basil leaves. The vegetables were fresh, and the chicken was incredibly tender, all bathed in a sauce that was the perfect blend of spicy and sweet. Then came the highlight of the evening, Pad Thai. The noodles were coated in a flavorful tamarind sauce, mixed with eggs, tofu, and a generous sprinkling of crushed peanuts. The dish was a delightful mix of textures and flavors that left my taste buds amazed. The grand finale was the Mango and Sticky Rice. The mango was ripe and sweet, a wonderful complement to the warm yet slightly salty sticky rice. Drizzled with coconut milk, this dessert was not just a treat but a festival of flavors. In summary, SoPa Thai is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary paradise. Each dish showcased the chef's expertise in balancing flavors and textures. If you're in search of an authentic Thai dining experience, SoPa Thai is the place to go. Their Tom Kha, Green Curry, Pad Thai, and Mango Sticky Rice take you on a journey through the heart of Thailand. I highly recommend it!"
