Horrendous people to deal with! Seriously if the owners don’t enjoy dealing with customers then maybe they should give it all up. Avoid avoid avoid!

Booked in for 2 night stay , unfortunately due to illness needed to cancel . Did try to cancel 48 hours before but was unable to get through to reservations and manager stated he couldn’t cancel on system and I needed to speak to cancellation...

Visited this place yesterday as part of a work meeting which I did not organise and I have to say the meal was one of the best I can remember in a very long time. Really interesting flavour combinations that worked, perfectly cooked and great service. Ver carta

We seven had the great good fortune to be the only people lunching there on what turned out to be a bright sunny Sunday. This may have made Chef's life easier when (he? she? discovered that three of our party had special dietary requirements, but the result was a meal much enjoyed by all not least because the lady serving us (Jo? was unfailingly patient, polite and helpful (and smiling . Excellent value, and well worth a return visit.

We stayed here for three days in October and really enjoyed our stay. We were in the Garden room, which is a lovely, comfortable and welcoming room with a good bathroom with both bath and walk in shower. We ate every night in the hotel excellent food. Food was delicious with some standout dishes. Service was friendly and attentive too and the final bill was very reasonable for what we had. A pleasant garden to sit in as well. I had to go to Somerset as my father was ill. We thought it would be nice to stay the night at the hotel we visited on our wedding day in 1999. The room was very pretty and so tidy. Unfortunately we did not enjoy the stay as the duvet made a loud crinkly noise and kept waking us. The floor was so noisy under foot and we felt it was disturbing people underneath. We had just wanted a quiet rest during a difficult time but unfortunately we left feeling more tired and stressed.

I booked the Farthings restaurant for a surprise 80th birthday lunch for my Mum. There were 40 of us altogether, all of us were just so amazed at how beautiful the hotel and grounds are, how tasty our meals were and how efficient and helpful the staff were. My Mum just absolutely loved it. Added bonus was that there was a playing field and park literally just over the quiet road next to the Hotel which pleased the younger members of our group. Parking is also good. I would very much recommend this Hotel and restaurant.

This was meant to be my birthday celebration and we had invited four friends to join us. We ordered drinks to start and the staff managed to get the order wrong twice! Then we were handed the menu, and told that all but two of the starters were not available, leaving a very poor choice. and when it came to the main course half of that was not available either! i just ordered a Caesar Salad, and was presented with a huge (and off-putting) bowl of dark green leaves, hardboiled eggs, anchovies,and a pile of bacon on top.....no apparent Caesar Dressing......it was unlike any Caesar Salad that I have ever been printed with!
