"This place feels old, and common with the non-descript and plain interior / exterior and that is what makes it so good for the traveler looking for a local gasthaus. This is located in a cobblestoned alley just south of the river in Frankfurt and a 10 minute walk to the train station South. Friendly staff, plenty of locals hanging out for dinner after work, and a great feel make this one of my highlights to Frankfurt given its modern identity. I liked the older feel of the eatery. Good food, good prices, apfelwein, and beir what else can you say. The trestle tables, wooden interior, stoneware jugs for the wein and mysterious location make this a fun trip to find and eat!"

Very traditional restaurant. Old-fashioned facilities. Service and food on average level. Daily offers and menu with traditional food.

Had worse... had better. Food was nice enough. No negatives as such. Wait staff didn't really care. Was pretty obvious that it was a quiet Sunday and everyone didn't want to be there..

Typical German restaurant, went with friends after week of business. Nice selection and all of our dishes were fine. Restaurant was busy. We ate outside, area is a little tight but it adds to the 'experience.'

We had one night in Frankfurt and walked about 30 minutes from our hotel near the main Hauptbahnhof to find a place to eat in the area of Fichte Kraenzi. We had a good meal of schnitzel and beer here and loved our outside seating....More

Title really says it all. Sachsenhausen is full of restaurants serving traditional Frankfurt food and drink (Äppelwoi, a kind of cider). This one fits the pattern, and does not stand out in any way, neither positively nor negatively. About as average as you can get.

This is a typical local place for local apple cider and local typical food. Mix of people , majority local and tourists.Seating inside or outside. Very good service and excellent local drinks and food selections.Prices are reasonable.Great places and atmosphere for dinning and drinking with friends or family.

I had a pint of pils, Swiss salad and a pork shoulder. And I loved them all!But the only problem was the portion of pork shoulder was too huge to finish alone lolBut don't worry even though you can't finish it, you can ask them to pack it for take away :)Also the staffs were really nice and friendly, and they all could speak English very well so you have nothing to worry about! :D

We were taken to this restaurant by some local friends and were pleasantly surprised.Very typical "apple wine" restaurant with some great local dishes..the spare rib was superb as was the snitzel.Only negative was that it is quite rowdy and a little cramped but after a couple of jugs of apple wine it seemed almost fitting.Very recommendable if you want to have an authentic German food experience.

Our German friends decided to take us here and we loved it. We tried a few things - schnitzel, goulash, beef and pig's knuckle - the jugs of apple wine and the beers (strug-brau) helped wash it all down. Strudel finished off the meal with some apple liquor and a ramazzotti. Atmosphere very local and relaxed - priced well. Would have been 5 but the pig's knuckle was drier than it perhaps should have been. Will go again if we come back to Frankfurt - just for the green sauce.
