Filini Bar Restaurant

This was a pre-theatre booking as a treat for my birthday. The only criticism I can make is that there was not too much choice on the menu. Overall though, it was very enjoyable and I would dine there again.

the restaurant is quite unpleasant and cold furnished. we were almost the only guests. I ordered a red wine and got a white wine. the steak should be “medium” but was very “through”. the apple was the caesar salad with acidic fish from the glass.

When my group arrived at the restaurant, we were informed that our table was not available even though we had made a reservation in advance through OpenTable. This ruined the evening for us completely. We had booked the table to give my mother a nice evening near the anniversary of my father's passing. I am deeply disappointed and will not be using this service again. The customer service was absolutely unacceptable. Ver carta

Our open table reservation never made it to the restaurant hostesses made it quite uncomfortable and had me pull it up on their wifi. We were the second couple to enter the tiny place and put at the entry table so we could greet everyone as the door open. No privacy. Flies were all over us. Hostess tried to redeem herself with complimentary dessert at the end. We were already embarrassed and uncomfortable just wanted to go.

Upon our arrival, we were informed that there was a Christmas party taking place and that our reserved table was not available. We were told that the restaurant does not acknowledge or utilize OpenTable for reservations. We were seated in the lobby bar with the other party guests and handed menus. Unfortunately, when our food was served, it was cold and the steaks were mainly fat. This was one of the worst dining experiences we have ever had and we will not be returning. We advise everyone to choose a different option. Disappointing.

I have dined here previously but I was told the menu had been changed and I found the choice quite limited. The pumpkin soup was excellent. My friend and I had the sea bass which was served with a crust of cheese that did not complement the fish. The sauce was much too sweet (maybe honey) and I did not finish my meal. A generous amount of vegetables accompanied the meal and had I known I would not have ordered a side order of mixed vegetables (it would be helpful if the waiter pointed this out). The carrots were to hard to cut but the peas were nice. Although this venue is extremely convenient for the theatre I am unsure whether I would return. Ver carta

they will not be protected the place that was so protected by their high-level staff. I visited felinis with a grad contempt as my brother had told me about a devastating evening he had spent there. we sat very fast, but from some reason our drink order was not accepted. Finally we ordered some drinks and our food at the same time. our Antepasto star was very nice. my main handle was with my main court. I ordered risotto, like my partner. when it arrived, my partner was well cooked and mine was very undercooked. undercooked risotto has a gritty texture that is, quite simple, inedible. like eating a sand sandwich. After attending a play at the theater, we enjoyed a delicious meal at this restaurant. The menu had a great variety of options and it was conveniently located near the theater. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere compared to the bustling restaurants near the hippodrome, allowing us to chat easily. The hotel restaurant on the first floor had a relaxed ambiance, but the service was a bit slow and lacking attention to detail. I am appalled that after booking weeks in advance via Open Table for a reservation at the Filini Restaurant my wife and I arrived to find the venue pre booked for an organised corporate event so that we then had to find an alternative restaurant on a cold night in Birmingham to celebrate my wife's birthday. I find the Open Table service highly disappointing when we had booked far in advance Open Table even sent me a reminder of the booking on the day! to then trek out somewhere and find another restaurant (at additional expense because you will realise choice would have been limited on a Saturday night).
