"Started off brilliantly, warm friendly reception and very attentive service. Drinks were prompt and very good and the decor and setting is absolutely lovely. We had the Sunday lunch menu and both had the smoked salmon starter which was beautifully presented and very nice. Then the Sunday roasts arrived and things went south rather quickly. I had the ‘best of both’ with both beef and pork which sadly omitted both apple sauce and stuffing, despite being described as ‘with all the trimmings’. My wife had the roast beef, which bizarrely was served with both apple sauce and the black pudding stuffing from the roast pork option. Clearly whomever was plating up wasn’t very attentive. Whilst the meats and roast potatoes were good, sadly the rest of it was rather tasteless. The vegetables were bland and needed seasoning; both the parsnips and Yorkshire pudding appeared to have been cooked much earlier in the day and then warmed up the Yorkshire pudding in particular was dry and tasteless. Equally, the gravy, whilst plentiful was watery and had no depth of flavour and the cauliflower cheese sauce was not cheesy in the slightest. If I were judging this meal as an average pub roast I’d have given it 3 stars, but bearing in mind both the premium price and the expectation set of ‘Malvern’s finest dining experience’ it certainly wasn’t food wise, so sadly only 2 stars. We can only assume that their Sunday roasts are not reflective of their usual standards and we will return to try a weekday evening meal fingers crossed…"

"Good for drinks but we arrived 5pm on a Saturday afternoon and our friends wanted pizza but were told there was one left, they weren’t cooking any more and you can’t order anything else at all. Also, they don’t do coffee, you couldn’t order that! It was disappointing as there was little explanation."

"The vegan options available here are clearly and intentionally part of the menu considerations, not just an after thought (as in, not just a non-vegan meal with the meat and dairy removed, which leaves a wholly unsatisfying result). The service was brilliant, as were all the meals we had (my husband and I had lunch, dinner and brunch the next day). The owner was clearly proud of the options available, but asked us our opinion on them, and what else would we like to see on the menu. What more can you ask for than an establishment that is happy to receive feedback and improve where possible?"

"A nice location with a large beer garden but made less attractive by the number of uncleared tables. Friendly welcome. A poorly lighted, small room overlooking the car park, with an extremely uncomfortable mattress, a shower that fell apart when we tried to use it, and a tv that switched itself on spontaneously at 6am. Noisy, crowded, popular dining areas with friendly staff but some unspecified blunder between server and kitchen meant our risotto didn’t appear for more than an hour. While waiting we were entertained by overly loud ‘background’ music. To be fair, the price of the meal was discounted to compensate for the long delay. The Swan is memorable for all the wrong reasons."

"we have been patrons of anupams for several years and as always the service foods are exemplary. we booked our 39-year anniversary, we didn't think we would come there, but our taxi (najs taxis) took us there. we had a really nice evening a fantastic meal and if the taxi couldn't make us pick up, we kindly got a!ift house from the manager. this was beyond the call of normal service and was very appreciated when we were resigned to a long walk to home. a great thank you for making this evening unforgettable. we'll be back soon."
