"We stopped here to purchase Yves Thurries chocolate, and stayed for a hot chocolate with chantilly cream. It was so good, we waited a few hours until our bellies felt empty and we went back for another round! It's one of the finest hot chocolates we've ever had - only Thomas Haas, a French chocolatier who has opened a couple of boutiques in Vancouver, has served us better (and we once had some incredible hot chocolate at Amorino in Paris, which was unexpected.) Really, it's world-class hot cocoa, served in a huge mug with a large bowl of chantilly cream, in a beautiful little dining room with colorful chairs and warm ambience. If you're in Annecy, do not miss it. It's the kind of hot cocoa that will turn you into the kind of person who gets on a plane and flies long distance just to have hot cocoa. And if you love dark chocolate, pick up a Thurries 100% bar this year - wherever they sourced their cacao from must have had a great harvest, because their pure 100% cacao bar (pure paste, no sugar) is wonderfully smooth and mild - you'll think you're eating 90% dark."

At the end of a hard day's sight seeing what you need is something to refresh you. Try Folie Royale for good coffee, superb hot chocolate and patisserie in a friendly traditional setting. You will feel much better afterwards. Their sorbet is also recommended. Ver carta

If you want to enjoy a good cup of chocolate in the old, creamy, tasty and especially having the taste of true chocolate, go there!Price of the sweet cup less than 3 euros. On the other hand, the 4.5 euros tea is a little overvalued in my opinion. A very good address, exceptional reception of the person in the room.

"‌Folie Royale" a coffee shop with character worth a détour".A warm welcome to enjoy a quiet moment for coffee, patisseries or even ice-cream or a light lunch and their unique Austrian recipe for hot chocolat.Talking of chocolate, Folie Royale, is the boutique for Annecy of "Maître chocolatier" Yves Thuriès stocking a wide range of chocolates. As I say worth a détour.

"We had a weird feeling about this restaurant when we were given 2 menu books WITHOUT any price at first. Turned out that their gastronomic pricing didn't match their brasserie standard at all. My friend asked a couple of questions about some dishes, the waiter...was very puzzled and passive, said a couple of times that he didn't know. After that, we were served some kind of MUSHY OLD bread before the meal. If this was a sign of welcoming from the owner, then he failed right there. In our main courses, apart from the meat and fish ingredients, each of us got half of a small potato, 1 small stick of leek, 1 lonely cauliflower, some smashed petit pois with the size of a small coffee capsule, and 1 line of smashed carrot. Looks like the quantity one would place on a plate of a gastronomic restaurant with 8 courses, except that this is NOT a gastronomic restaurant, from the plastic menu, the furniture, the old bread, the cutleries, the different menu pricing and the service which failed to describe the dishes. The worst part, was when the waiter came and asked us if everything went well, I gave him the feedback that the food was good but the veggie was way too little. He first proposed us to eat more dessert, then when I said no, he got so upset and defensive that he even pointed at the kitchen telling me that I should go to see the chef and discuss with him myself. Why bother asking your client how their meal was if you can't receive a candid feedback? Being a frequent traveller, coming from the hospitality industry, I have to say this place is to AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Unless you have too much money and eating next to a canval is way more important than being treated in a disrespectful manner, and leaving the restaurant with a happy stomach."
