"Based on the Google ratings we chose this cafe today and we can confirm all the other 5 star ratings. It 's a beautiful little family business. We immediately felt like we were at home with mum (in this restaurant probably also like at home with dad, because he is the cook, if I remember correctly). We were served quickly and friendly. The food was delicious and you could tell it was freshly made. It 's really worth the wait, which was perfectly fine (less wait usually means worse quality). There are also vegetarian and vegan dishes marked with v and vg (I think more v could be added here). There were a lot of guests that day. As soon as one left, the next came in. So a very very popular cafe. Despite this, the owner took the time to talk to us and also to answer questions. I really like the style of the 1940s. And it is nice that it is consistent in decoration, music and menu. I like the pun Four Teas . Finally, I would like to mention that we really liked that our table was cleared and cleaned first and then we were shown to the table. This was very friendly discussed with us beforehand. Vegetarian options: Vegetarian/vegan dishes marked with v/vg. Other side dishes to supplement, also vegetarian. Dietary restrictions: Detailed information on allergens is on the menu. Kid-friendliness: Children 's chair available. A family with four children, we with two adult children and a mother with one child were there and were served very friendly."

This was by far one of the best experiences of our trip to England. Gail and Anton have perfected the “mom and pop” cafe. He is the chef and she is the front of the business. While we were there she taught us how to properly eat scones the Cornish way, “jam before cream!” and we had the best homemade fish pie. If you’re traveling around the southwest, don’t miss this amazing shop, we can’t recommend it highly enough. Parking: You must park in one of the villages car parks. Ver carta

We stopped by here with our three dogs while revisiting some nostalgic holiday spots. The staff was very accommodating and incredibly dog-friendly. The cream tea was delightful and offered excellent value for money, all homemade too. The woman in charge is an absolute delight—funny, friendly, and truly a natural entertainer. She made us all feel so welcome. I can't recommend this place enough; everything we tried was perfect, delicious, and made on-site. Definitely visit—you won't be disappointed! Five stars from us.

Visiting this cafe was the primary reason for visiting Mousehole and it didn't disappoint. It's a family run cafe with the old lady handling all matters at the front managing customer seating, helping with the menu, helping with and taking meal orders and bill payments, all with a smile. We were full when we visited but couldn't resist a slice of cake with coffee. Had the Dundee cake which came recommended and the tea cake both of which were amazing and tasted fresh and delicious. The tea cake was toasted perfectly and was perfect with butter and a pot of tea. The cafe decor is old school and is kept very clean. Depending on how busy it gets and what you offer, you might have to wait a bit t...

"Last day of what was a perfect holiday. We’d hesitated after reading several negative reviews but we’d had a good roast here a couple of years ago, so booked a table. We had the first sitting of the evening and were greeted by a very bubbly waitress. We went for a glass of wine each, with 2 small plates for starters. The poor man’s scampi was lovely, the pork belly tasted nice but was barely warm. The waitress encouraged us to have the turbot and told us she believed there were 2 left, so we both chose it. We then watched her tell the table of 3 and the table of 6 walk-ins that turbot was an option. We love fish and we’d had some excellent fish all week; 2 Fore Street and 2 incredible meals at Mackerel Sky in Newlyn (unbelievably good). However my turbot was tasteless and slimy. The skin both top and bottom was slippery like it had been boiled. It made me feel nauseous so we spoke to the waitress. I opted for ribeye as a replacement as it was the same price. My partner ate his turbot but did say it was tasteless (he just wanted to leave). My ribeye was like no steak I’d ever tasted. I chose medium, it came swimming in a thick salty gravy (whisky and mushroom sauce I think) that was incredibly salty. It was covered with leaves. I’ve never seen a steak presented like it. The steak tasted like braised beef. I’m sure the meat was reasonable quality but the cooking of it was terrible. I cut it up and we ate it between us. Incidentally my partner had finished his meal before my ribeye arrived. The waitress came over and asked how it was and I told her it was incredibly salty. She said sorry I’ll feedback to the chef. That was it!! I was thirsty all night, it was so over salted. There was not even any recompense for the poor food. We were given a bill of approx £110 for the worst meal of the week. We left agreeing we will never set foot in there again."
