We visit the Garden Restaurant quite regularly, but have recently been very disappointed by the lunch menu. It used to be great; what has happened?

my partner and I treated my mother on Sunday dinner for her birthday. we had a nice time. the food request of my mother was delicious. the ambiente and service both top notch. the rolls royce of traditional Sunday dinner!

The dining experience at this restaurant was excellent. There were a variety of delicious dishes to choose from. The service was exceptional, with attentive and professional waitstaff who were also immaculately dressed. The dining room had a beautiful atmosphere and was well organized and peaceful. Food very plain but nice 70’s style. Waiters great . Traditional decor nice but all needs redecoration particularly in bar where sofas have more than seen there day there all worn out and similar to a nursing home . Drinks good but £17 just to high a price for surroundings an eastbourne. We used to visit regularly we’ve now stopped due to escalate prices an worsening decor that never appears to have work done to keep it tidy

The Grand Hotel in Eastbourne is one of the finest dining venues in the South East, end of story. I've tried so many restaurants but keep coming back here. The Garden Restaurant is so elegant, and the service is exceptional. Plus, there is a separate vegetarian menu with about five choices of starter and main course. The only restaurants I can think of that better this are vegetarian restaurants. And of course my carniverous companion was delighted with his chicken starter and guinea fowl main. If I could, I would eat here once a week, it's just superb.

The setting is traditionally beautiful, the service was good, but the food... it really was terrible. Menu seemed to be 20 years out of date, boasting local produce (fresh asparagus in November?! . The main course was horrendous, cold vegetables (on cold plates , a fillet steak that could not be cut even with a steak knife (I had to leave 3/4 of it as it was inedible and a lasting taste of weird truffle pate that lingered for the rest of the evening. Not wanting to make a fuss in front of a room full of diners, I discreetly asked one of the waiting staff to advise the chef that the steak was too chewy to eat. I don’t think she let the chef know as my comment was not followed up. We paid our... Ver carta
