"from the outside this restaurant looks like a large old building house in a suburb of lamenting. several chalkboards on the entrance, showing the dishes of the day and the quite impressive number of cars on the parking motivated us to eat there at lunchtime. at the passage through the awfully stinking smoker area to reach the larger dining room for non-smoking, we realized a distinct difference: there are tablecloths in the non-smoking room, but no one in the smoker room that made the latter look very unattractive. even if not smokers enjoy the “premium” of a table cloth, this does not mean that the space dedicated to non-smoking with its very old, rustic wainscot would be particularly beautiful. at least it looks traditional and reflects the seemingly very long history of this place. the densely written menu in its small format is also a remnant of a distant past. it is dominated by typical Austrian cuisine and the prices are with the stand of this restaurant, i.e. quite modest. it is worth noting about the service, except for the fact that it was fast. as another feature that reminded us of pastness, each one of us received a fork and a knife that were wrapped so thin in a paper nap that you could almost see through as soon as it was unfolded. our dishes were served only a short time after we had ordered them. while the flesh was not bad, both salates we had were a catastrophe: drowned in water and without taste at all. the gasthof schlosswirt can be forgiven for being old-fashioned, but not for such delicacies."

Nach getaner Arbeit ein unkompliziertes Abendessen in einfacher aber zufriedenstellender und sättigender Umgebung.Der Schlosswirt Grillteller war in Ordnung und wurde schnell serviert.Gute Wirtschaft auf der Durchfahrt.

Sehr bodenständige günstige Kärntner Küche. Im Sommer ist der Gastgarten sehr zum Empfehlen und dieser ladet auch zum Verweilen ein. Das gesamte Essen und auch alle Nachspeisen sind hausgemacht und das schmeckt man auch.

Schoenes Gasthaus mit Athmosphäre. Selten so guten Fisch gegessen. Das Verständnis des Chefs für meine Umbuchungen für ein Zimmer bedingt durch Klinikaufenthalt meines Mannes war grossartig. Danke. Nächste Fahrt nach Klagenfurt immer wieder ein Anlaufpunkt.

I need a 100 character description for my assessment. that's not true. the food was good and the beer was okay. we smuggled in a home brewed Hungarian palinka, so we had a great time. the personal tries with non-germanian-language idiots...tourists like us. I'm glad you come by.

Einfach perfekte bodenständige Küche mit toller Hausmannskost.Ein Familienbetrieb mit begeisternder Hausmannskost !!Mein Topfavorit: Faschierte Laibchen oder Geselchtes mit Purree.Bin immer wieder gerne Gast in diesem schönen alten Gasthaus, denn für mich zählt nicht ein aufgemotztes Ambiente, sondern eine ehrliche Küche.

Gute Bewirtung, schöner Gastgarten. Personal zuvorkommend, man wird schnell bedient. Getränke kommen umgehend und Speisen werden auch rasch zubereitet. Top Organisation. Für meinen Geschmack große Portionen. Qualität und Preis absolut in Ordnung. Auf Sonderwünsche wird eingegangen. Ich war lediglich auf der Durchreise, kann das Lokal nur weiter empfehlen.

Auf der Karte findet sich auch eher selten Angebotenes: geselchte Zunge, Leber geröstet und gebacken (8€), Ritschert (eine riesen Portion - 6 €). Das halbe Backhendl um 9,90 € ist auch sehr günstig. Die faschierten Laibchen schmecken gut, leider ist der dazu servierte gemischte Salat eine Zumutung (der Anteil an Blattsalat eher lasch und unabgeschmeckt, die Gurke und die Erdäpfel ebenso fad). Als Nachtisch finden Sie neben dem Klassiker "Indianer mit Schlag" auch eine Mohnzwetschkencremetorte. Klingt gut, wenn´s auch so schmeckt. Im Sommer lädt der schattige Sitzgarten zum Essen ein, im Winter müssen Sie mit einem "alten Gasthausinterieur" zufrieden sein.
