"Unfortunately, the activities were clearly geared toward older children and not suitable for toddlers. If I had known this beforehand, I would not have chosen to attend. Earlier that day, we had enjoyed a wonderful Halloween party at another venue. My granddaughter wanted to get her face painted but was told she was too young. The face painter was quite rude and abrupt with us. To make matters worse, I noticed her discussing us with another staff member, which felt intimidating and uncomfortable. The food options were also lacking—only jam or ham sandwiches, crisps, jam tarts, mini sausages, and chicken nuggets were available, with no healthy options like carrot sticks or cucumber in sight. I also noticed adults bringing alcohol into a children's event, and the music was not appropriate for kids. As I was putting one of the children in a pram because she was tired, I was aggressively confronted by someone I assumed was a senior staff member. She didn't introduce herself but claimed that I had upset the staff by voicing my concerns. The concerns I expressed were part of a private conversation with my daughter about our disappointment and were not meant to be overheard. Things escalated when the face painter joined in on the confrontation. This was highly unprofessional and left me feeling shaken and humiliated. This was meant to be a children's party, not a place for conflict. I considered leaving without making a fuss but felt compelled to leave after the altercation, especially when she told me to "jog on." If the staff had issues with me, they should have approached me privately and respectfully. Instead, I was shouted at and not given a chance to defend myself. I have been a regular visitor to this establishment and have always supported them since they are local (only 15 minutes away). I even stayed with them during lockdown to help support local businesses. However, after this encounter, I have no desire to return. Confrontations like this are entirely unnecessary, especially when they were more than happy to accept my money for an event that was unsuitable for my child's age group and then treated me disrespectfully in the process. We were only there for about half an hour, and unfortunately, the way I was treated led me to write this negative review. I would have left quietly without feeling the need to provide feedback had it not been for the confrontation. However, I feel compelled to warn others about what they might experience if they choose to attend one of these events. There are many other local businesses that organize these events more effectively and create a welcoming atmosphere. Although we inquired about their Christmas event and were considering booking, I will now be looking elsewhere. I've since learned that the staff member who confronted me was the General Manager of GG’s and The Estuary."

Fantastic sundaes! I brought my family here while they were visiting from Ireland for the week, and they really enjoyed it! Parking: There could be more disabled parking spaces available. Service: Dine-in Meal type: Other Price per person: £10–20.

Everything about this little ice cream shop is spot on. The place is clean and bright, airy feeling. The staff are welcoming and helpful. They allowed us to taste the ice cream before we made our choice and they were very reasonably priced too!!! Regular visitors to GG's, particularly with grandkids for ice cream, always delicious. Today we took them for lunch which included an ice cream for dessert. The children's portion are enormous, one portion would have been ample between our 3 little ones. Could staff not advise when they see age of kids? The killer for me, however was the ice cream, when ordered we were politely informed that only GG's gelato was available free with the meal, resulting in me having to pay over £1 extra for each child to have the flavour they wanted! Come on GG's, that's not playing fair as they are all the same price at the counter. Service rated 3 as I had to go to counter to ask for table to be cleared, and...
