After a full day of visiting the surrounding area, my husband and I were looking for a quick dinner. Our hotel recommended Gioia and we were very pleasantly surprised by the delightful cuisine.

we had a very nice Italian dinner in gioia. the Burratta Caprese was excellent as the bark and fish dishes. the only disadvantage was that it was quite loud, so it was hard to hear their travel companions. Ver carta

Found this restaurant after looking on TA and it was the best meal we had in Nice. The food, service, ambience, everything was excellent. We were so disappointed when realised they closed on Sundays which was our last night.

I think its the most tasty and amazing place in nice , perfect atmosphere , food are tasty the a huge selection of wine , staff and workers are very friendly !After 5 days in nice this was the perfect dinner !!!! Recommend a lot ...

If it is warm you can sit on the terrace. Inside it is airy and clean, the a la carte offerings are on a blackboard. The lamb was very tender and the prawns with grapefruit were pronounced a great success. The desserts are shown so temptingly on a platter it is difficult to refuse. The pannacotta was to die for, in fact, the puds are included in the reasonably priced 'formule'. Ver carta

Choice of dining al fresco or inside in an airy, clean restaurant. The choices are on a blackboard and the waitress (very good english speaker was only to happy to explain some of the dishes that we did not recognines). The lamb was very tender, fallin of the bone and the duck was perfectly cooked. The desserts are shown on a platter it is difficult to refused. Small but good selection of wines. We enjoyed the food that much we ate there 3 nights of our week long stay.

Only a short walk from our holiday apartment, website looked good. Restaurant was not busy, 2 other couples dining. We were told by a rather nonchalant young waitress to sit where ever we liked. Menu board was given and when waitress came back for our...order two of the dishes, from a small menu were not available . Should have been taken off chalk menu. Food was average, service bad, considering restaurant not busy. Asked for a bottle of water twice, we never received it but was charged! Had to go to bar to pay bill as waitress was busy chatting to male customers at bar.

A group of us, still tired from our flight from DC, were walking around Nice trying to find a place to eat. We happened to bump into a lovely young French lady on the sidewalk and she told us of a restaurant nearby. Thanks to her, we found Gioia and had one of our best meals in France! The staff was exceptional, trying to explain the menu to us in English with our limited French. (I was using my Rick Steve's French phrase book which is very, very helpful!) I had the clams with pasta dish...my word was it good! And the red wine I had was the best I have had in France. I just wished I had asked the name. The staff always was very accommodating with figuring out individual bills from the check.... Ver carta
