Globe Inn - Menú

I had beef bourguignon which even with a steak knife was difficult to cut and I couldn’t eat it. My partner played it safe and had a burger which was fine. The haloumi fries were overdone. So all in all not the best experience and a shame as the setting is lovely.

We love coming to the Globe for Sunday lunch, all the staff are fantastic and the food is lovely. Jane looked after us today and always goes the extra mile, booking us in, in advance, and making sure we have everything we need. A really lovely place to come with family.

We had a fantastic dining experience at this restaurant! We enjoyed the Camembert appetizer, a delicious burger, sausages and mashed potatoes, followed by some amazing desserts. Our server, Jane, was incredible. She had a great sense of humor that kept us entertained all evening. Thank you for the delicious meal and excellent service, and a special thank you to Jane for making us laugh.

My partner and I visited for Sunday lunch, on a friend recommendation, and we were not disappointed. All the staff were lovely and Jane in particular made sure I was well looked after. She arranged for us to be seated where we would not be inconvenienced due to my mobility challenges. The food was delicious and hot. We will certainly visit again and recommend to our friends. Jane was our server today and I must say the service was impeccable. Despite being short staffed, the quality of service we received was outstanding. Although my husband's starter was not what he ordered, Jane quickly rectified the mistake and even let him keep the incorrect dish. She had a great sense of humor and made our dining experience enjoyable. We will certainly be coming back and would highly recommend this restaurant. Thank you, Jane.

Disappointed Beautiful pub nicely decorated for Christmas, staff and service very good and friendly but the quality of the meal was sadly a let down. The roast potatoes were overcooked and difficult to cut , the pigs in blankets were inedible totally black and literally couldn't be cut without shooting across the room.Frozen Brussel sprouts were very unpleasant and the toast for my Terrine starter was burnt black but served burnt side down to hide the fact. Very disappointing the chef let's poor quality food leave the kitchen. A beautiful pub which could do better .

Just home after a wonderful day at the globe inn with my lovely wee friend. Arrived at opening 11am, and was greeted with a warm welcome although we hadn’t booked. We were shown to our table and served attentively throughout the day by Julie Brad. We both had a salmon dish which was delicious and very reasonably priced We felt so comfortable there the day just slipped away and we left around 3:30. Never felt rushed at all. Christmas decorations lovely and such a cosy relaxed ambiance. Will definitely return and will recommend to all my friends. Thank you both for making our day.

We have visited this pub many times over the 37 years we have lived here and always found it warm and welcoming. Today we we're treated to a lovely 3 course festive lunch which I had recently won in a competition. The pub is in fairly new hands of the lovely Jo who from what we saw today is working really hard to make a success off this much love old pub on the canal. The food was tasty well presented and hot and served to us in timely manner by the lovely smiley Jane. I would recommend a visit here,even if its just to pop in for a festive get together with friends. You won't be disappointed.

Unfortunately, this restaurant review is a bit mixed. The staff were welcoming and the restaurant was beautifully decorated, but the food quality was disappointing. We were a party of 9, including 2 children, dining early in the evening for the Christmas menu. The sprouts and broccoli seemed to be frozen rather than fresh, and the 'roast potatoes' were boiled baby potatoes with skin on that lacked the crispy and fluffy texture of proper roast potatoes. The main roast meals were barely warm, although the burgers and chips were acceptable. Overall, the food could be much better to earn better ratings.
