Golden River - Carta

This was one of the best Chineses' I've ever tasted! It was not too greasy or salty, it had the right balance! The squid could have been a little crisper but absolutely amazing!! Would definitely recommend!

Four of us had a variety of dishes and they were all delicious and fresh, large portions too. The owner was really friendly and flexible with the dishes when I ordered. I would recommend the crispy duck, ribs in honey sauce, kung po king prawn and szechuan chicken

Went here last week as we were staying in the area. Huge menu, but a very friendly service and we didn't have to wait long for our order. Food was hot and tasty.Good portions and would go again if in the area. Very good spring rolls and good tasting curry. Good chow mein. Good prices. Ver carta

The menu offers over 100 dishes with many variations of similar options. The food is actually quite delicious, and I have a lot of experience with Chinese cuisine. Overall, it is a good option for takeout and I believe that selecting the right dishes can lead to a very enjoyable dining experience.

Been plenty of times over the years and always beem excellent UNTIL TODAY!! 2 quarter crispy ducks with pancakes were disgusting nothing like used to be. Not at all crispy virtually all just fat and tiny bits of bone (they had shredded it for us on request). We threw it away. Very disappointed. Has management changed?

I had to go back to the restaurant to replace my order because it was incorrect. Unfortunately, even when I finally received the right order, I was very disappointed with the quality. The chips were undercooked, the spring rolls were freezing cold, and the Kung Po chicken had a foul taste. The only thing that was good was the fried rice. This is a take away restaurant. We popped in for some dinner. I ordered pork and cashew nuts and my husband ordered sweet and sour chicken we also ordered rice and noodles and were given a bag of prawn crackers. We went and had a drink while we waited as our order was going to be 20 minutes. It was ready when we returned for it. We were delighted to find the freshly cooked food was so tasty and delicious. We will certainly use the Golden River again and recommend it to anyone needing a quick tasty dinner.

Decided to grab a take away from here for a change. It used to be very good, but I am sorry to say it isn't now. Won Ton soup was extremely salty. Now, I like salty, but this took it to a whole new level. The Won Tons were also considerably smaller than they used to be. Salt and Pepper King Prawns batter was far too thick and also very hard. I ended up taking the prawns out of the batter. The only thing that was edible was the Chow Mein. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. The only saving grace is that they said it would be ready in 20 minutes, and it was. They may be keeping their prices down, but it really it at the expense of the quality. I called in my order at 4:55 PM to be picked up at 6:15 PM. When I arrived a little after 6:15 PM, there was no organized line. Despite the current COVID-19 situation, the takeaway restaurant did not have a system in place to handle a large New Years Eve order book. I waited outside for an hour and a half before finally receiving my order at 7:45 PM, after seeing many later orders being fulfilled before mine. My food was not only extremely late, but it was also lukewarm at best, and some dishes were completely cold. I was close to losing my patience and giving a harsh word to the staff.
