We had a wonderfully flavorful and unique meal at Gunpowder! The standout dishes were the lamb dogs, duck, and the kale salad. The atmosphere was beautiful as well! I would definitely return for another dining experience!

Quality food and interesting menu, very popular which definitely needs booking in advance. Recommend to go with friends and order multiple small dishes so that you can try out different things! Their cocktails are good too!

Fantastic chaat options! The food is authentic, fresh, and satisfying. While the menu is relatively limited, each dish is thoughtfully crafted and expertly prepared. The prices feel a bit high for the portion sizes, but the overall quality of service, pleasant atmosphere, and outdoor seating make it worthwhile!

Had an excellent meal here. Cocktails were on point (the gimlet was a highlight), and the dishes were a really successful blend of authentic Indian flavors with modern preparation. We did the 60GBP set menu: the soft shell crab stole the show but the tandoori chicken, egg curry, and lamb were all solid. Service was attentive and helpful with suggestions. Highly recommend.

Staff very accommodating to seat us in after arriving early on a wet, rainy wednesday. The Egg Curry Masala was true Indian small plate. Many other dishes are of the European palates anglicised dishes eg Beetroot croquettes and Tandoori Broccoli. The Prosecco gets served in an ordinary wine glass but that the way Gunpowder does it. Jack fruit rice was spicy and authentically spicy. The vegetarian tasting menu was nice, had to taste the soft shell crab which was perfectly made

After sitting at her original cozy Spitalfields site, I was thrilled to have a new, highly anticipated and fortunately much larger second gunpowder event site was set up to open their inventive selection of Indian tapas style plates!. stylishly decorated, they think store chic, the restaurant keeps it pulsating atmosphere. the dining room has a series of stands, tables and bar seats to make it the perfect option for any type of dining room experience, the smaller level in the upper floor also with a view of the lively kitchen.

Each dish was packed with flavor and perfectly balanced. The presentation was beautiful, and the food had substance as well. We ordered several small plates to share among our group of six. However, I would recommend ordering a few fewer plates and ensuring that there are two portions from each dish so everyone can have a generous serving rather than just one or two bites. The service was excellent, although it could have been more attentive at times when we needed assistance. It would have also been helpful if serving spoons were provided for the dishes, as we ended up using our own cutlery and struggled to manage the sauces with our forks. My first time visiting this restaurant and it definitely won't be my last. The food is incredibly flavorful and plentiful in quantity. We ordered the beetroot croquettes which were probably my favorite, along with the Rashmi kabob and vermicelli donut. My dining companion was incredibly excited to get the venison vermicelli donut. The filling inside the donut was absolutely delicious however the actual bread and vermicelli portion of it was under seasoned. The sauce that it comes with was really nice and tangy. This restaurant is right near Tower Bridge. I made a reservation in advance, this is a busy restaurant. The menu offers a variety of small plates and sharing plates which cater for a number of different tastes, be aware veg options are limited. It is definitely a limited choice menu compared to a typical traditional Indian restaurant. The food was served quickly, I went for the small plates and ordered a number of different dishes, similar to tapas. All the plates were presented well and I would say we're all delicious.
