"Unfortunately, a company named itself decidedly good bourgeois Austrian cuisine as a boring system gastronomy has to go out - that was not long good and for a long time there was no authentic Austrian food in mainz anymore. Now the hahnenhof is back with real wiener (Kalbs-)Schnitzeln, backhendl and imiserschmarren. may be that for some German real white carvings and backhendl (small meat, quite thick, crispy and yet loose panade) do not seem rich - but who wants to enjoy it right as in how, it finds it in the hahnenhof or something outside on the lerchenberg in the mountainyard. the hahnenhof is a good-bourgeois, cozy local- tip-gastronomy you can not expect here - but authentic Austrian cuisine and not a systemgastronomy á la Wienerwald with waitresses in the dirndl and Kitsch-Staffage on "Bavarian-Austrian"."

the two main courts were not good. kotlett was dry and therefore tough, bratkartoffeln partly burned and blackthe baked chicken fad and with much too much panade and the kartoffelsalat boringschade

the hahnenhof is like the name already says always good for chicken in all variations. also the carvings are really mesmerizing and I personally stand on the kartoffel salad. I cannot understand the bad assessment of the personal, I have always been served politely. the weeping card is a little rheingaulastic, you might want to have more Rhinehessen. otherwise a restaurant we often like to go into.

the hahnenhof is a good restaurant in the mainzer Neustadt. Eating ( Cordon-Bleu / camembert / paprika huh) is really delicious. the dessert ( mousse from the delicate chocolate / apples chick) were also fantastic. the solala. general a beautiful evening. :-) the service was ok, nothing special - but attentive. a point to deviate for the grumpy looking and not really friendly blonde operation (no warning if it is the chefin) Ver carta

Alteingesessene Weinstube. Typisch mit dunklem Holz vertäfelt. Dadurch etwas dunkel. Immer gut besucht, deshalb besser reservieren!

our dinner from the hahnenhof unfortunately ended in a food poisoning. we had heard about the good call of the hahnenhof and ordered each half a chicken and a kartoffel salad. the food itself was very good, but some hours later, with a person, used all the symptome of a food poisoning that could only be attributable to it. we are a bit frightened, as you do not expect to follow with such for a well-rated restaurant and for 8.50€ for half the chicken.

"we thought it was time that four years ago opened patagonia in the mainzer neustadt to test. the bus and tram connection is excellent, the parking situation is very difficult. there is an outside area at the restaurant, and the dining room is large and clear. because the guests were distributed outside and inside, the reservation about opentable would not have been necessary. so we were allowed to choose a table and were welcomed by the two ladies in the service friendly. we found a rectangle with a view of a large flatscreen, on which a diashow of pictures ran from patagonia, which first triggered television. steaks are offered in all variations, and the selection is quite difficult. we first took three empanadas with different fillings that relatiw quickly came out of the kitchen and taste very good.My wife decided in the main course for a rumpsteak of the even medium rare with grill potatoes and salad. I had previously researched the card in the internet and asked myself what a flap steak was. wikipedia helped and so I knew it was a cut that is very common in patagonia and comes very close to the us sirloin strip. I wanted to try this and ordered it **** in the bloom. I took a foil potato. both supplements were handed with the obligatory sourcream with coriander. the two supplemental salads were fresh, colourful and crisp, with the carrots also liked as a supplement. Even with critical consideration, the performance was in all respects of expectations: the services were extremely friendly and stood also in the meat selection with rat and did the side. the we chose to be perfectly met. confusingly I found the hints in the menu on the recommended per steak. these were all together and especially between medium and well done. that was not comprehensible for me because of the top quality of meat, all in all a very successful evening with a quite reasonable price-performance ratio. we like to come back to patagonia."
