The food was cold booked table for 5.30 pm made us pre order , did not give us chance to sit down or order drinks. We had two courses. The roast dinner was very good and the meat was very tender. It was definitely worth the price. There was a good choice of desserts. I am gluten-free and catered for without a problem. A very enjoyable lunch with friends. Dietary restrictions: I sm gluten-free, which was catered for, and I had a good choice. great pub with a good selection of food available. the personal is incredibly friendly and chatty that is beautiful to see. a few of our group are gluten-free, so we were glad to see the potatoes on the lunch menu. would be nice if they saw a few bottle of gluten-free beer on stock, for when we return next time : note that EV charge fees are available via the road (75kW via the 2 x Osprey chargers, so this is the perfect place to charge while they have a place to lunch.

We had a wake at the Hammer and Pincers in October and the service and buffet they provided was excellent. A wide range of sandwiches (the ham sandwiches were made with proper butchers ham), sausages, chicken goujons, pork pies and lots of very good cakes. They reserved the whole of the lounge and the restaurant area for us. We had a wonderful afternoon and the billl was much less than expected. The new owners really know how to provide excellent food at very reasonable cost.

As mentioned by others, the service at this restaurant was terrible. We waited 15 minutes for a menu, despite the waitress only having two other tables to attend to. Eventually, we had to go up to the bar to request menus. After another long wait, the waitress finally took our order. It took about an hour from the time we arrived to when we got our food. My wife enjoyed her BBQ spare ribs, but my steak pie was dry and the roast potatoes were hard. The vegetables were undercooked as well. Unfortunately, we will not be returning to this place. On a positive note, there is a large free parking area on the side of the pub.

This is a rather traditional pub with a potentially lovely sun room. The food is very good, the staff are helpful and friendly, and the prices are reasonable. The only issue is with the decor and ambiance, especially in the sun room area where we were seated. While it was clean and comfortable, it could use some minor love and attention. For example, the window blinds in the conservatory could use replacing as they looked tired. Additionally, the outdoor space could use some maintenance, with broken paving slabs needing attention. With a bit of investment and creativity, this place could be truly outstanding. I must emphasize again that the food and service are excellent.

From walking in we knew we had made a mistake the place is filthy, the blinds needed a good clean and cobwebs everywhere. Ordered food it came on cold plates, I had chicken hunters style which usually means a mushroom sauce this was served with overcooked bacon a bbq sauce which was not nice and a overcooked chicken breast my wife had mushroom stroganoff which wasn’t to bad but the rice had not been washed off so it was starchy and salty, there was no garnish at all, no chopped parsley nothing. We should have complained looking at the staff they did not seem interested. The young waitress had on a shirt which was food stained and all creases. The food portions were huge, but unfortunately my steak was not cooked to my liking. The lasagna was a bit bland but still decent. The service was the biggest letdown of the night. We waited 15 minutes at the bar before being seated, and then waited an additional 25 minutes before even being acknowledged. It took 50 minutes for our food to arrive, and we were so frustrated that we almost left without eating. The waitresses spent a lot of time in the kitchen, neglecting to check on us or refill our drinks. Another table waited an hour just for their appetizer, so we decided to skip dessert.
