Awful. Food arrived suspiciously quickly (perhaps reheated). Ambience/setting was awful. I went to H&T for my 19th birthday in 2017 (different branch) but it’s seriously gone down the pan (unless it’s just Putney). I would have been more satisfied with a McDonalds.

The menu has loads of choice, and this causes its own problems. The food came nicely presented and cooked. The staff were ok but could have been a bit more attentive. People were seated close to each other, even though the place was not that busy. It is better to spread people about than shove them into one place.

We arrived in the afternoon and were promptly seated at our preferred table. The waiter quickly took our drink orders and returned promptly. We decided to order the sushi and were impressed by the presentation of the food on the plate, particularly the fresh and smooth salmon. I would highly recommend this restaurant and would come back every day if I could.

We recently ordered a takeaway from the Putney branch. When we got home, some of our meal was missing. One of us tried the call the restaurant whilst the other went over to try and sort. No one answered the phone for over 15 mins and upon arrival my partner was told it was our fault this has happened. No solution was offered and our remaining hot food at home was ruined. Avoid.

We had a really good meal at HT. The tempura and chums wskame seaweed were excellent, and the sushi box was of solid quality. The chicken teriyaki rice and roast duck and rice were also good. The service was good and the atmosphere was easygoing, but nothing special. The total bill for three people, including 4 cokes, came to 73.26. HT is a guaranteed option for a satisfying meal that won't break the bank, although it is no longer considered a cheap lunch option.

The restaurant was quite busy for a midweek lunch, offering a wide range of Asian favorites that were consistent, reliable, and enjoyable. The Japanese dishes were authentic, satisfying even a discerning diner who grew up in Japan. The food quality seemed to have improved since before the lockdowns, with tables spaced further apart for safety. After a delayed reopening in 2020, the restaurant returned with new menus and slightly higher prices. Despite the lack of weekend queues post-lockdown, the experience was pleasantly surprising.

Disguised under what sounds like the name of a pub, this small oriental restaurant had been recommended by my daughters, and it fully lived up to expectations. Service was kind and efficient, the food was very good, the ambiance was simple and pleasant, full of light and with no background music disturbing the conversation. The bill for the three of us was £50, including a 10% service charge. The high level of takeout activity was confined to the entrance area, and did not disturb us at all. It is now one of my favourite restaurants in the neighbourhood, both for dining in and take out.

Different place pre and post covid The food was excellent but everything else was very disappointing. The staff were disinterested in the few tables that had customers and only seemed to be interested in the take away service and Deliveroo drivers that streamed in. It felt like we were an after thought, in a take away shop. The toilets were absolutely disgusting, they smelt, were dirty and had loo roll everywhere. Then at 9:15pm we were repeatedly asked if we wanted to make a last order and at 9:45pm (on a Saturday night, with friends who hadn’t seen each other since before covid) we were given the bill and asked to make our way out. Strange mini chain this with branches In Kensington High Street, Chiswick, Ealing, Bloomsbury and this one in the Upper Richmond Road, Putney. This is a large open plan barn of a place serving with a few exceptions the same range of pan-Asian food as its other locations majoring on sushi but also running g the whole gamut of noodle, rice and ramen staples. Chicken kari-age, Japanese style-nuggets with salad made for a solid starter whilst three panko covered prawns were exceptional. Mains of salmon and rice, chicken ramen and Malaysian style laksa soup were our choice of mains although Chinese style duck rice would have done just as well.
