The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful . We had not visited this pub before , but we received 30% vouchers off meals so thought we would give it a try. The menu is limited for vegetarians . They don’t do the specials board anymore ! It’s a pub that we always like to go to for special occasions or otherwise but it has lost the charm recently with limited menu and no changes either . The staff is awesome though . We came here during covid and the place had sadly gone down hill. I had sausage and mash around 2021 and the mash was lumpy with no flavour and the sausages were really chewy. But gave them another chance 2 years later and I'm impressed! The food is back up to a high standard. I had the southern fried hunters chicken and I was not disappointed. The only criticism I had was that there was hardly any bbq sauce on it and the chunky chips tasted like cheap oven chips, not freshly baked and so did the fries. But overall, I'll be coming again.
