"Caravella has been around for many years and through different owners but I was pleased at this most recent trip. The service was good and quick, and the food was good. This is a certainly one of the better Italian places in Mayen – good...enough to host professional business lunches. The service was formal with good presentation and all food arriving simultaneously and efficiently and crisply presented. The portions were a decent size and sufficiently flavourful. They had good quality ingredients in the melons with ham and garlic shrimps. The vitello tonatto was also well made and of a good standard. Our entrees were also good, with the pasta dishes being well composed, good portions and tasty sauces. We also had the aubergine parmesan which was big for the starter portion with lots of layers of aubergine, cheese and sauces. It was hot and yummy when served. In Mayen, you could not get much better Italian cuisine in a nice environment. I would suggest you go there if you are in the area and are craving some nice Italian dishes."

"I did found it by accident, but I had done my research before traveling here, so, once I found it, I had to sit down and try it. Food is good, good portions, some youngs servers do speak English, so don't be afraid to ask...questions, I had a traditional fish fry, it was good, not to fishy, and not to breaded, it was good, when in Mayen stop at Poseidon."

"Ich bestelle sehr gerne bei diesem Pizza-Lieferdienst, weil sie immer sehr lecker und von hoher Qualität sind. Egal ob ich Pizza, Macaroni oder Kalzone wähle, ich werde nie enttäuscht. Für mich ist das die beste Pizza in Mayen und Umgebung. Der Service ist auch freundlich und schnell. Das Personal ist immer sehr nett und zuvorkommend. Ich kann diesen Lieferdienst nur empfehlen!"

"This place is right at the main market square, in view of the castle. If it looks crowded, there's lots of space in the back, yet you won't get to see the environs from there. The place was relatively busy, and almost every table looked...like it was occupied by groups of friends, or by couples, all in the age range. Obviously this is a very coarse approximation, but you get the idea: apparently it's not damaging to your streed cred to be seen here. Service was rather rapid and friendly, even though the place was bustling. I require a gluten free diet for medical reasons, and fortunately the menu had clearly labeled allergy information, so there was no problem detecting which dishes were gluten free and which weren't. There weren't many gluten free options straight from the menu, but one of them was just what I wanted, so I didn't bother asking whether I could request changes to other dishes. There were many local dishes, by which I mean that many ingredients were specified as being from the direct vicinity of Mayen and it's surrounding villages. Normally, if you think about German cuisine, you might think about thick sauce and inelegant chunks of meat here, though, there were also choices that involved stacks of grilled vegetables, and other possibly more healthy options. Food was quite good, and not expensive at all. I checked the cheap eats box, but this was in no way a budget eatery. They just didn't ask for much money. In all, I can recommend this place if you're in Mayen. Not the best or most excuisite restaurant in the world, but definitely satisfactory, with good food."

"Kulinarisch sehr gut und schön urig dekoriert. Leider in der Regel von Holländern überflutet, sodass für deutsche kein Platz mehr ist und man gelegentlich sogar auf Englisch abgewiesen wird. Telefonische Erreichbarkeit ist praktisch nicht gegeben. Mittlerweile gehe ich auch nicht mehr hin, wenn man nicht erwünscht ist und man lieber mit lärmenden Holländern anbandelt, unterstütze ich lieber andere lokale Restaurants. Sehr schade. Sollte irgendwann wieder Platz für Ortsansässige Kundschaft sein, würde ich vielleicht wieder hin gehen."
