"The staff at the Hitchin cafe were polite and attentive. Although the menu was quite unclear (with several prices for the same choice I assume it was priced small/medium/large but this was not explained), we nevertheless had excellent meals. After a heavy night at a wedding, the Hitchin Cafe was exactly what we wanted. The food was reasonably priced and delivered swiftly. The polite and courteous manner of the staff was the highlight of the venue as they were engaging and interested in getting to know us; even though we were only there for a swift breakfast. My partner and I would both recommend this cafe for a very good traditional breakfast."

My first time in this local cafe. Mediterranean breakfast haloumi and soujuk see the photo with Turkish coffee . All I need is a Shisha . Good service and friendly. Reasonable prices. Recommended Ver carta

I haven’t been here for quite a while but fancied trying somewhere different to my normal haunts. We both had the standard breakfast with an egg, two sausages, two bacons, beans and either toast or bed and butter.

Since February/ pre covid. We like to support local independent businesses so chose here. I so missed a decent cup of coffee!! We enjoyed our lunch and we were the only customers on 4 July so very socially distanced !

Popped in for breakfast and was very pleased with this place. Nice and bright not dark and dingy like some. Good choice for breakfast and lunch looked good as well. Staff were great and good value. Defiantly worth a visit. Ver carta

Sauntering in the old and almost sleepy town of Hitchin, very close to the town center on the Hermitage Road was the buzzing café at Hitchin. Had a quick Latte at the café – service was prompt and quick and coffee was like it was – great. Setting was great and ambient was nice and bright. The menu was interesting with quirky quotes for the patrons. It was great coffee at Hitchin Cafe.

Excellent value. Came in here for a late breakfast and everything from their very varied menu was on offer. Had poached egg on toast but would have pushed the boat out more had we not been going out for lunch later. Very friendly service and no frills. Just right. Lots of interesting pictures of old Hitchin on the walls. It’s right in the centre. Wheelchair access very good but didn’t check the loos. Next time I’ll do the Full English and skip lunch..!
