Hostaria Da Giulio Al Monumento

Arrived late in Rome and found this place nearby. Good traditional Roman food, won’t win any Michelin stars but nice people, great food, house wine excellent, pasta dishes could have done with a bit more content in the sauces but great value.

I went here last August for a work related dinner. The food is very good for this casual place. The location is convenient if you are at Villa Mirafiori and allows for a casual business lunch or dinner. The pasta amatriciana was very good, and the bruschettas as well.

Family restaurant with excellent food.We had di fiori di zucca and roman style artichokes as an appetizer, and two different fish choices that were excellent prepared.Ambiance is not sophisticated at all, expect a typical roman style trattoria with good food located close to Bologna Metro station.Chocolate tartufo ice-cream was delicious. We came upon this restaurant by chance and ate there twice, both times feeling very happy with the food, the drink and the price. All the meat we chose (chicken, oxtail, lamb and pork) came in very generous portions and was very succulent. We were too full to try the desserts, unfortunately, as they looked good! Very nice, low-key atmosphere.

We had a good lunch here. Delicious pasta, cooked on point to be al dented, tasty sauces, good meat and fair prices in total. 10€ for food per person. Unfortunately the lunch menu is nothing for vegetarians, as the second dishes consistent of meat only. But you can still choose from the regular menu, there are different dishes without meat or fish.

We’ve been in Rome for 5 days and eaten at a lot of “high rated” places this place beats every top rated place on yelp. We have now had most of the menu and we are always very happy with everything beginning to end the tiramisu was the best I’ve ever had the roasted meats are to die for and the all 4 pasta dishes I’ve had were wonderful. Not to mention the pizza is perfect. Gonna head back for one last meal before we leave town! Ver carta

Local trattoria type place. Family run. A little scattered as to who was doing what while we were there. Didn't get our salads which ended up not being a big deal as we always have more than we can eat. Just trying to throw in some vegies : Stuck with pizza and Pasta based on reviews by other travellers. It was good. Not amazing enough to search out but if you are close by and wanting a decent tasting plate of pasta you will find it here!

in the nomentan district, I had lunch with friends in this restaurant that recalls the ancient traditions of roma. the menu is a hundred percent typical, so I chose the abbey and artichokes to the Roman, but also the first dishes I saw pass were very inviting: cacio and pepper, gricia, etc. wine of castles and informal environment make this place very cozy and relaxing. the decor is a little old and contributes to the trattoria a house atmosphere and reserved. to conclude the meal, let the manager recommend one of the desserts that are produced at home. the price was not high, and the quality left us fully satisfied. a Romanesque lunch par excellence, in a restaurant where the culinary tradi...

La cucina povere, or Quinto quarto, is the basis of the real food of Rome. And it is best found here, at Hostaria al Monumento. The restaurant is a 30 minute walk from downtown Rome in Nomentana. The local as such is rather dark but has an open fireplace and the owner is friendly and the cooking is SOLID. They do offer takeaway and the price is VERY affordable. Compared to Nonna Betta, the quality is better, the portions are larger and the price is more affordable. You won´t find any other tourists in la Hostaria. In Nonna Betta you cannot escape them.
