"A very nice place, with delicious Indian food, a rather simple and inelegant restaurant, they try hard in the service, but we had a young waiter who didn't know how to answer questions. Portions are not large but a reasonable size"

"This place has good reviews so I decided to give it a try for a family dinner, thinking it might be reasonable. Irish pub playing American country music that should have been a sign to turn around and find something else. Took a look at the menu and saw the typical Swiss high prices, again, should have walked out. Only thing I saw on the menu I would consider Irish pub fare was the fish n chips. My wife had that, and said it was just OK. Rest of us had chicken wings and fries. Mediocre would have been a compliment for them. I get it, it 's Switzerland, things are expensive, but I don 't mind when I get good quality. We had dinner the night before at another (local Swiss) restaurant and it was great. (Restaurant Ende der Welt) Should have went back. I also learned that you get charged for tap water at the Core. Supposedly this is normal? I was not charged at he other local place. I guess they appreciated me spending over $100 chf and didn 't mind pouring some water from the tap and washing a few glasses for my business. Tried to have the charge removed but manager was condescending and said 'it 's only 8 chf ' well right back at you it 's only 8 chf you should have removed it and had a happier customer willing to give a good review. Plenty of much better places in Engelberg."

"Wir waren nach dem Klettersteigaufstieg um 8:45 UHr beim Restaurant Fürenalp angekommen. Leider wurden vom Servicepersonal die Tische auf der Terrasse reserviert. Nach nachhaken durften wir uns doch hinsetzen, wir mussten aber gegen Mittag den Platz wieder frei machen, als ob wir 3 Stunden dort sitzen bleiben würden! Die Getränke mussten wir zweimal Bestellen und wir fragten nach einem Nussgipfel, Kuchen oder was sie sonst so haben. Das Servicepersonal wusste nicht was sie im Angebot haben, sie musste es zuerst abklären, die Nussgipfel sah ich schon von weitem, aber eben. Als wir einen Nussgipfel und eine Aprikosenwähe bekamen, verging uns das Essen. Der Nussgipfel musste von Gester sein und die Aprikosenwähe war ein billiges Produkt oder billig gemacht und die Wähe war Eiskalt. Als wir bezahlen wollten hatte sie kein passendes Münz zum wechseln. Insegesamt hatten wir drei verschiedene Mitarbeiter vom Servicepersonal und die freundlichkeit fehlte komplet. Wir waren froh als wir endlich gehen konnten. Dort gehen wir ganz sicher nicht mehr hin."

"we were recommended for a night in engleberg. hotel and tripadvisor Swiss house. I made a reservation. it was just outside the city. inside was a modern looking place. tablecloths and a large window to the kitchen. we ordered and received a small appetizer plate with...salmon my wife ordered trout that came from a pond next to the restaurant. the service was friendly and efficient. we enjoyed our dinner and probably one of our best dinners during our trip."
