"It is not clear if the hotel has still a farm attached to it or not ... Certainly not with the old wooden farm equipment, because that is used to decorate the main dining room. This gives it a very cosy and pleasant atmosphere. This alone not enough to make it a pleasant dining experience ... The food was excellent a tasty potato cream enriched with duck meat, the steak fresh and with a well balanced sauce. Yep - the food gets a thumbs up. (Be aware, smoking may be allowed ... why not stop it?)Wir sind uns nicht sicher, ob noch ein landwirtschaftlicher Betrieb angeschlossen ist oder nicht ... Sicherlich werden auf dem Hof nicht mehr die alten hölzernen Geräte eingesetzt, die jetzt zur Verzierung des Gastraumes verwendet werden. Der Kartoffelschaum war ausgezeichnet, das Steak kam mit kreativen Kartoffeln im Speckmantel. Einfach lecker. Echt meine Empfehlung.(Warum noch Gäste Rauchen lassen? - raus auf die Terrasse.)"

There are a few restaurants not to far from the altenberg dom, this one is a bit better than the others. It's not just geared for tourists but a good meal. 4 of us ate for 67€.

In the cosy atmosphere of an old Fachwerkhaus you can enjoy excellent cuisine with a local touch and sometimes surprising, but delicious compositions. Always worth a visit when you're taking a look at Altenberg Cathedral.

I like it for more than 15 years alreadyA very nice place as long as you like nature, go out and have good food.Also contact to the employees is common in this hotel in the later hours. So you are never alone in this house. Ver carta

We came her by coincidence since most other restaurants are closed on 23st dec for lunch.It was a magnificent surprise. The service was friendly and swift.We all ordered the pillekuchen, on her advice and it was incredible. Stripes of Salmon and fresh spinach on a kind of 'reibekuchen'Accompanied by a Weizenbeer.

If you are expecting the menue and quality just to be everage up-conurty you will be surprised. The presentation and quality of the food at affordable prices leaves little to be wanted. The staff is polite and efficient. To share a meal especially outside with friends or family there and occasionally watch cattle this just puts your mind at ease. We will from time to time be back.

This week we were hilding there our team dinner there. We were some 20 people so a significant number of people. The service was really attentive and providing the drinks and food properly and in good time. The food was good and a mixture of tipical german food with something new. A good mention on the dessert, a small mix of creme brulle, ice cream, chocolate mousse and red fruits. Ver carta

My ex-employe suggested that we do not meet for an informal lunch recently after the COVID rules and regulations were partially relaxed in Germany. The bench seats outside on the terrace under the trees were very well visited, especially those of the silver haired generation. I ordered the local Bergische Landbier Vom Fass (Drahtbier) and chose the asparagus with Sause Hollandaise and a selection of ham. Very nice. We finished our meal with espresso and then drove for an afternoon of work (at least in my case). Service was friendly while I love it when the waiters look forward to a bit harmless, jovial banter... Oh, there are plenty of free parking and beautiful views of the fields. Fine.

My colleague and I were here without reservation recently a lunch and were immediately led to one of the large wooden table tables outside. We started ordering some cyclists (Shandy) and then checked the one side of the lunch offers. My companion went for a vegetarian house made pasta dish that she felt was OK, but there was missing any special je ne sais quoi taste. I had the liver cheese on a small bed of fried potatoes and crowned with a fried egg. That came with a little salad. "General We ate lunch together with the family. It should be a relaxed day. And I think it worked. In order for us to have a good conversation, I discussed and voted a menu and a beverage guide in advance with the junior boss of the house.
