"Situate in a very picturesque part of the Lake District, made the 2/12 hour drive well worthwhile, the lady on reception was very welcoming and swift in booking us in. We stayed in a double deluxe room the view was fantastic looking out on to the surrounding countryside with horses, sheep and cattle in the neighbouring fields, the amenities were excellent and the bed was extremely comfortable. I would highly recommend this as a great place to stay to relax and recuperate."

Very family friendly ..... Good for social distancing as tables well spread out. Lovely food... great staff ???? Steaks and peppercorn sauce !!!!! Staff very professional with procedures in place.

Lovely meal tonight, all 6 of us enjoyed it and couldn’t fault anything. Steaks and peppercorn sauce were amazing. Handled the covid situation perfectly too, very clean, organised and professional. Will be back

we only stayed 1 night, however was made to feel at home and welcome. Food was amazing, we had dinner and breakfast, both on point, best black pudding I've ever had. We will be back for a longer stay. Beautiful location. 10/10 Ver carta

Stayed here for one night in the deluxe double room with balcony and had an evening meal and breakfast next morning and the food was lovely and the hotel is spot on. The scenery was beautiful and the room spotless would definitely recommend this hotel

Went today for Sunday Lunch. Starters and puddings were very good. My main course was poor. I chose the pork. This was undercooked chewy and very fatty. The vegetables were well cooked and I enjoyed these. Shame that the meat spolit the whole lunch for me. Service was also very slow.
