Worked in Peckham for 20 years and passed this restaurant which always seemed busy. Now I know why........ Good food, cooked and priced well. Comprehensive menu for all tastes Very good staff and service.

we had a beautiful Valentine's Day meal here. the service was nice, the atmosphere cozy and friendly, and the food was really delicious! we both had different tagliatelle pasta dishes and they were incredibly delicious. we will definitely be back. Ver carta

We went for the first time, absolutely stunning! We tried the Antipasto to share that was quite small but fair for the price paid, the Linguine Mushroom and the Pizza were tasty and very good ! I am not a huge fan of Tiramisu but their one was fab !

we had a nice dinner in il giardino. my sis and I went to the opening time to avoid the mass. the waiter was friendly and the sitting area in the upper floor was nice. all courses were delicious and beautifully presented. we will definitely go back if possible.

Il Giardino is a place I've walked past a thousand times and always thought it looks like a cosy little restaurant so different to all the more yuppified establishments that surround it. It's exactly that, they cook hearty Italian classics with friendly service and reasonable prices and I'll be back soon! Ver carta

Lovely family style restaurant with a great menu. All of our meals were cooked fresh and the menu is not too exhaustive so it would appear all meals are made fresh. Staff are friendly and attentive and as one other reviewer wrote the premises is refreshingly unhip. Starters and mains were great and the homemade tiramisu was superb. Reasonable portions and prices. Love it x

Third visit to this informal hospitable restaurant on the main drag near Peckham Rye station. Decorated with unpretentious art and curiosities, France, Italy, Spain, Peru etc. Good menu leaning towards our favourite Sardinian flavours and dishes, not least the pasta. Really like the place. Fairly priced and friendly. Only minor gripe, some tables a bit close so small and larger groups of enthusiasts can be just a bit loud and it is sometimes hard not to feel that you are at their table with them. Dreadful service. Great food (when it finally arrived). Our waitress spoke such broken English for her and us to actually communicate was a chore. And we really tried. Consequently the dining experience was a trial. We ended up with one tiny dish of veg to share (about one potato and a spoonful of spinach) between two main dishes because of her recommendation despite questioning the choice. We waited for over half an hour between finishing our starters and the main courses arriving. When I had the audacity to query why we were waiting so long I was shown the bill and told there are lots of people to serve, it 's not just you I didn 't really find this very friendly or helpful.
