We were here in December, when Tuscany isn't crowded. Finding a table near a window with a great view was easy. The coffee and dessert was equally a lovely escape from the grey, drizzle and cold. We very much enjoyed our visit here.

Waitress, we hardly talked to English. And when she asked for gluten-free, she just said no and cried her head. It turned out that they dig gluten-free pasta after some, but actually did not feel really safe to eat there because they did not seem to know the meaning of Senza Glutin. I think you all know how much you trust your waitress and that was just not. Ver carta

good place to make aperitif. the place is large enough and often crowded. if you are lucky (very lucky) you can also take place at the tables on the balcony so you can make an aperitif with a view that pays the price of consumption. a note: it would be better if there was a member of the staff who takes you from the entrance to the table and immediately gives you the menu, rather than go alone to the table and wait for it to be given.

This place is a DISGRACE for the whole town! We were there for lunch and the food was terrible. Overcooked pasta that also smelt terribly, steak that was terribly cooked and had an odour of spilled meat. We ended up with borderline food poisoning. The service was also awful. Please, avoid this please by all means when it comes to having food there. This experience left terrible aftertaste that marred the whole trip to Montepulciano. We now remember the town, not for the great sites and the views but for the disastrous lunch we ended up getting at this “historic” caffe.

We should have left upon arrival given how rude two staff members were to us. We were then required to access the menu by phone although after requests we were begrudgingly given a limited printed menu but were told it was out of date. We only stayed as an older waiter tried to come to the rescue. The food was fine but uninspired/ uninteresting. The view is good. If they do not want to serve people from other countries they should make that clear before inviting you in. Pointer, never choose a restaurant because of its history or views. It was a big disappointment as only a couple of days in town and wanted to indulge in a lingering lunch. C’est la vie. Ver carta
