"the visit came out mainly for the interesting wine cellar, but then, a restaurateur who loves wine and has certain skills certainly loves food too. In fact, confirmed the fantastic choice of wines, we could appreciate a kitchen made of great raw materials and nice and ambitious ideas. our lunch has contemplated oysters, a strepitous raw with crustaceans and carpacci (magnificent that of moonfish lipsticks with artichokes and a spectacular lobster with Catalan; to finish a sweet tribute to the territory with ricotta, frolla, olives and artichokes, very, very interesting. location maybe not “consistent” to the quality of food, while the wine shop is very beautiful. the patron has been very attentive and professional, giving us a discovery that, demoleting every prejudice on Ligurian catering, enters right among our favorites. Good!"

I found myself very well, both for the service and for the dishes, fried pan with meat and hot cheese really good crispy, dry as I like, fusilloni with good octopus and the sweet abundant and refined. variety in the menu to return.

the place is on the beautiful seafront of laigueglia. location not particularly charming but excellent cuisine. we tried the degotation menu and were very happy both for the quality of raw materials and for the quantity. punctual and very kind service. really good experience. recommended!

We had been at il pirata several years ago and we went back last Saturday for dinner. The pizzas were excellent, with quality ingredients and not common in the style taste. A bit pricey but quality has a rate and it is rare to find these levels. We will go back to try the restaurant proposals. Ver carta

I do not put 5 stars because, leaving aside the quality of the great food with fish always fished and fresh, lately the portions have been reduced very much. the service always impeccable, although sometimes the expectations between one and the other are a little long. However if you want to eat fresh fish, absolutely to recommend. waiting rewards the quality of food. prices suitable for products.

We went for the 4 course surprise tasting menu. I guess in the end we got 5 or 6 courses. Especially the grilled octopus on smoked beans pasta/base was excellent as well as fresh ravioli with kale and shrimps tartar. Wine we focused on Ligurian and Piemonte bubbles and under or around 30 EUR/ bottle you can keep yourself occupied quite well (vintage bottles). Service was well informed, spoke good english so live seemed quite ok in Liguria. They are also connected to their own excellent winebar if you do not fancy a restaurant.....

"Five and three quarter years is a short time in the life of some restaurants and a roller coaster ride in others. When we first came here, it was a charming but very conventional/traditional Ligurian restaurant and we loved it. Chef Sybil Carbone became a culinary celebrity and the owners backed her passion and talent taking the restaurant in a more creative and individualistic direction. It was still true to its local roots. The revamped decor was a bit more upscale, feminine and distinctive. When Sybil heard the siren call of big cities and began spending more and more time elsewhere, her second in command, also a lady, kept the restaurant on course, but some of the creativity and buzz diminished. Now, a new, but experienced chef from Andora is at the helm. His new menu is barely dry, but seems to steer more back to the traditional side. The important point is that it is well executed, tasty and fairly priced. The desserts are excellent too. There is a shift from linen to paper place mats and napkins, perhaps a practical nod to the financial risk of a small restaurant in trying times. The wine selection is still fairly basic, but reasonable for a place with a modest price point. A reassuring continuity is the same pleasant and skillful waiter from the Sybil days. On a wet Wednesday evening in mid-October the locals are supporting the restaurant and so are we. In the heart of the budello, the restaurant still has character and charm, and more importantly, fine food."
