"the burg caffe in alken fell on us while passing. it was afternoon, we had coffee. so we put our car on the mosel and entered the caffe. it was huge, some tables free. so we went first to the pie counter. crowds of tasty torts waited for the guests. not so easy to decide. Finally, we found that right for us. the friendly lady behind the tressen asked if she could give us the teller, because it was quite full and the services hardly came after. my companion took the teller. I went ahead and looked for a table. by chance, I saw how in the winter garden, with direct view of the mosel, just someone stood up. I was heading directly to the table, arriving there, he was already cleared by a waiter – a nice Italian, as we found later. he immediately took up our coffee order. so we didn't wait too long for our drinks, we brought the cake. outside it was raining, we sat inside, looked at the water and the landscape around. It was nice here. the cake was absolutely delicious, really recommended. I had also discovered a further theke next to the kuchentheke, where house-made pralins were sold, at a very good price for these delicacies. So I went to the sales room again to complete the visit and made a selection of delicious pralins compiled. I still have some, they are gradually eaten. Hmm... a pity that the caffe is so far away from home. the burg café is huge, with approx. 200 seats in different rooms. you also run a hotel, also for bus groups. the rearmost room is designed as restaurant, for house guests and visitors. the front rooms all have a beautiful view of the mosel. surely rather a mass operation. nevertheless we sat in the winter garden in a relaxed way. to the full of the guests is set, there is enough personal available. we have felt the average age of visitors – we have long since been beyond the 20: we can recommend a visit to the caffe. despite the fullness that speaks for the house, we didn't have to wait too long. the pralines should not miss."

"Very often and like to eat there. Today, after a good 2.5 years, once again ordered there. On the internet is 1.50! There is no mention on the phone that the delivery costs have risen to 5 euros. At the front door it is mentioned by the way that the delivery costs are 5 euros. If I had known that before, I would have taken the food myself. Curry rice tastes zero after churry but simply salted tomato sauce of rice completely and the sandwiches black! Pizza very dry and covered with vegetables. After today's experience, we will not eat anything from there anymore!"

"Two stars! 2.5 rounded 3 because of the room.... usually have no idea about migration background and do not want to understand. The next morning you should clarify it with the reception, which is of course no longer occupied at this time. It was deleted only at check-out! But what really upset me was the tear at the drinks prices! On the first evening we ordered 2 large 0.4l Cola, at a price of 4.90€! But 5,50€ per drink were booked! If asked, I can't help, tomorrow with reception, waiter 2... these are old prices. New are not on the map. The next day, first wrong menu, because food was another! Then get new drinking card! Now there were 5,20€ 0.4l Cola. The book was still 5,50€!!! If asked, it's right! New card! Speaking... that was how we looked when we looked, although we had no dessert and no appetizers in the first night, we got the two menus of 53€ together, but the two overpriced Cola 's had to pay and were not refunded! Remember! We paid €61.50 per person per day! without drinks!!! The food itself was edible, but by far not the value that was given to you. No quality or quantity! If you do not want or want to replace something, this will be calculated separately! The cake buffet, which is provided without drinks every afternoon, is not for Joche Swiss customers! At least we were robbed of this service in the JS corner! Speaking of...the allegedly ready bikes Ebikes were also fictional. There was nothing at the local bike rental. At least you have a free ticket for using bus and train. That was a very clear plus! Can't make all the other guess good. As little as the free parking. The place itself has the Mosel and 2...3 overpriced restaurants including nothing to offer in the hotel. Nothing! The most exciting is the train station. Conclusion... an experience you don't need twice. Not recommended for me!"

"Went here to eat. We stopped because we saw this beautiful place with a very nice view. We were seated outside but unfortunately it started raining so we went inside to eat. The place is really very nice and well organized, the staff was very nice and very friendly with us. The food was very good indeed. We got two beautiful cutlets and the taste was really great. Plus we really liked their fries. We were very satisfied, in fact we will definitely come back!"

"Unfortunately, I can't forgive minus hotel stars. But this hotel only got its four stars because the service was not part of the review.The food was just bad. The conditions in the hotel bar probably didn't know you had to go to the table to pick up an order. The entire hotel staff was very tense and had a bad mood. The staff blanket was too small for the number of hotel guests. The check-in took place so that the hotel staff entertained themselves behind the reception. When an employee finally got humbled to talk to the guests, they were cheerful in the background and laughed so that they felt very uncomfortable as a guest. From this moment I only felt in the escape mode The entire stay at this hotel was characterized by uneasiness and bad mood of the employees. To this the rooms were too expensive for what is offered here.Leider is also very misleading the hotel website. The pictures shown are not all from this hotel Unfortunately, I could give more to the best, but I will leave this stay as an adventure holiday.I can only advise you to return to this hotel. Better you take the family hotels in the area where service and food is much better. Even with only three hotel stars, they can just do more."
