We enjoyed traditional Bangladeshi cuisine served by a friendly staff. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and informed that we could bring our own alcohol since the restaurant does not have a license. My partner brought a bottle of wine, which we savored alongside our meal. The chicken tikka jalfrezi was absolutely delicious. Ver carta

Lamb jalfrezi, peshwari naan, onion bhajis Asked for a lamb jalfrezi and got given a lamb tikka jalfrezi.. A bit weird.. I guess the only lamb they had was already marinated in tikka spices? The curry was decent, enough meat, sauce good, bhajis were OK.. Something I've noticed with naan breads over the last years or two when with various Indian takeaways are that the naans a very similar wherever you buy a curry from.. I'm sure they are brought in from wholesalers??

Having read the reviews we had some doubts about visiting but decided to go ahead. Have to say that everything was very good. Cannot fault the food, the staff or the restaurant itself. The owners obviously took heed of the reviews because there was no carpet; a nice, new laminate floor instead. The air freshener was plugged in, but no overpowering smell. It looks like the whole restaurant has been refurbished. Finally, they accepted my credit card when we had finished.

My wife is a vegetarian, but she loves her curry, so on her birthday which happens to be today I called and asked if they could do me a mushroom, onion and tomato balti, IE a chicken balti but without chicken and with extra mushrooms ... I got a big fat NO as a reply , how rude, We will never be using these again this screams out to me that all these are pre prepared I mean if you can't add mushrooms to a balti sauce you must be pretty useless . Well that's one local who will never use India restaurant and takeaway in helston ever again and on my wife's birthday too . Ver carta
