"errrrmmm having been here a couple of times, must say i enjoyed my previous visit better! the restaurant is what it sets out to be a quick fast, casual diner for a simple lunch and the food was good, but the service could have been a lot better...firstly the maitre d (and waiter sits at a table that is NOT in sightline of the guests! so whenever you want smtg you have go find him. the music was dire (jazz so has to ask him to change that...no atmosphere at all, which is difficult with too few guests and the area is a bit of a building site right now (local tube Lancaster Gate is shut...would have been nice if the restaurant or OT had told us that when we booked! we need good restaurants in this area devoid of anything decent"

I enjoyed the food, the service was great. I made a reservation for a Saturday night dinner at 8pm and the restaurant was not crowded at all.

dinner was good though not exceptional. Breakfast the next day was not good. scrambled egg on crumpets. The crumpets did not seem to have toasted so as to make them inedible

The restaurant is well located and the service is great but is far too overpriced for what it is. Our starters were mediocre and overcooked and the wine list is extremely poor. The mains were very good.

My wife really enjoyed the mushroom and fig risotto. My duck salad was a bit sparse of actual duck, I expected more for 14.50, but it tasted ok. The happy hour mojitos were nice. The service was very good. We would definitely eat here again.

I used to eat at the Island Grill many years ago when I lived in the area and although it still holds a lovely ambiance, the food was a little on the disappointing side on this occasion. My colleague had a burger that he said was quite dried out and I had the fish and chips but unfortunately the fish was well over cooked and the batter was done to a crisp! I will return in the hope that this was a one off experience.
