Islanders - Carta

We are delighted to see the Islander restaurant make a comeback. The establishment has been renovated to an excellent standard and the fish and chips are as delicious as ever. Congratulations to Luis Passeira and his team for a job well done.

I just had a lovely lunch, served by lovely staff, it appears the restaurant is now back in safe hands, spotlessly clean, fresh fish, piping hot chips and lovely tea. Now they are back we will be back regular, we need to have a chippy of this standard on the Island.

The good news is that the Islander Fish Restaurant has re-opened under the original ownership for which we are very happy indeed. The interior decor and furnishings have all been upgraded and the quality of the food is back to the old high standards that we all expect. Happy days!! Ver carta

I have just arrived home after having an excellent lunch at the newly refurbished Islander Fish Restaurant on Furtherwick Rd Canvey Island. We were a party of 4 and we were highly impressed with the new fit-out and the quality of the food. I wish Louis and the staff every success going forward.

I have been coming to Islanders for many years, but when I visited today, I was shocked by the changes. The staff looked dirty and provided sloppy service. The restaurant was in need of a good cleaning and smelled of grease as soon as we walked in. The chips were terrible! I will not be returning and do not recommend this place.

We had fish and chips delivered and it was excellent. We were sceptical as didn't want soggy fish and chips but it was as delicious as going yourself. We ordered through the restaurant not just eat. We opted for no vinegar or salt to be put on it, adding it at home to give it a fighting chance. No complaints, absolutely crispy and delicious Ver carta

come in around an hour after they opened and got served, wasn’t really any interaction with me they was talking to another person majority of the time apart from when i had to pay, then had to wait 15-20 minutes for a small chips and saveloy not to mention it was more or less empty in there apart from me and another women, then when it was wrapped up she dropped my saveloy onto the side infront of the till and proceeded to serve me that, as i suffer with anxiety wasn’t very confident to say anything but ended up having to throw the saveloy as i am very conscious over my health, not good at all!

I visited this restaurant for the first time today after seeing the high ratings on Google. I was surprised to see some recent negative reviews, but I found the food to be cooked perfectly! We ordered a large portion of cod, which was enough for two people because of its thickness and it was not greasy. The chips were also perfectly crispy and golden. Fish and chip places are getting more expensive, so it's nice to find one that is worth the money. (Especially coming from Watford, where there are many overpriced restaurants - this is not one of them). I highly recommend this place and would definitely go back. The staff were friendly and even had a nice chat with us while we waited.

My Son and partner came for Easter, we were recommended to try there meals. after a day out on Good Friday we had already booked to be sure of getting a seat as always busy. We arrived at 5pm and were welcomed with a smiling waitress who show us to our table. We ordered our drinks which were swiftly brought to our table. Looking at the menu at the mouth-watering meals, my son chose good old fish and chips Lou his partner ordered half chicken and chips, i ordered grilled plaice and chips with mushy peas.
