Excellent food and a fantastic atmosphere. The service was outstanding with friendly and attentive staff. Thanks for a lovely lunch and I will definitely be returning!

The owners very kindly fitted us in as a last minute booking for the Christmas menu launch night. The meals my husband and I had were both faultless and great value for money, and the service was exceptional- we can't wait to come again!

We have been back and fore here for several years. The dinner is always fantastic, the service previously used to be very slow, the last couple of visits the this seems to have changed. Very organised and very little waiting. Highly recommend Ver carta

The Islwyn Inn is a really friendly venue with lovely food and great customer service. I went on a work lunch event and had a great time. The food is high quality and the team worked hard to make sure we had everything we needed. Highly recommended.

Beautiful Sunday lunch today, cooked perfectly! I had the mushrooms to start, my husband had the soup, then both had the Beef dinner, absolutely gorgeous! No room left for desserts today for us but saw others and they looked lovely. Thankyou for booking us in last minute due to a cancellation, best dinner around and wonderful service as always! X

We frequently visit the Islwyn inn for Sunday lunch and it’s always the same and always absolutely stunning. I just feel it’s time I write a review. We dined there today and I had the pork and my wife had the beef Sunday lunch. We both agree that nothing comes close to how tasty and generous portion size we get at the Islwyn Inn. I celebrated my 60th birthday here with family close friends and the evening was a huge success. Nothing was too much trouble and all members of staff were very attentive super helpful. The food was outstanding (as usual) and the presentation of each plate of food delightful. All guests were highly complimentary of Rob’s culinary expertise. They also loved the cosy atmosphere of Dexter’s Cwtch where we enjoyed drinks after the meal.

My family and I often dine at the Islwyn Inn for Sunday lunch and attend their theme evenings, so we decided to have our baby shower there. We cannot thank Rob and the staff enough for being so helpful and allowing us to decorate the room to our liking. They were extremely accommodating, offering a variety of menu options including individual platters for dietary restrictions. We had around 20 guests and everyone raved about how delicious the buffet was. It was a truly perfect afternoon!

Went for Sunday lunch for our daughter's birthday. The food is outstanding and very good value for a 3 course meal 10/10. Sadly the same cannot be said about the service. Our meal was booked for 12.30 so we thought it would be nice to arrive a little earlier as they open at 12 and have a drink in the separate bar area. A gentleman came in and told us to go straight to the restaurant area and made us feel very unwelcome, like he didn't want us there. Why have a bar area if you don't want people in there. This spoiled our experience which is a shame as the food is so good. 10/10 for food 4/10 for service. Ver carta
