"We ate here on a hot Monday evening and really enjoyed the great atmosphere. The menu choice is good and features some classic dishes there are burgers, grills etc. I can recommend the schnitzel, which was very tasty! The highlight for me was the...range of gin's on sale. You can sample flavoured gins the raspberry was excellent! I can also recommend the Rosemary infused gin which is created by burning the Rosemary and smoking the gin a great piece of theatre and one of the best Gins I have drunk. If you get a chance chat to Josh behind the bar who creates all the various gin flavours. If you are looking for a place with a great atmosphere and excellent staff I highly recommend this bar restaurant."

Excellent service but concept is really not clear. It's a bar with supposed high quality restaurant. But quality of restaurant/set-up is not really logic and quality of food is average for quite a high price! Go there for drinks, not for dinner. Ver carta

Good vibes as soon as you enter this buzzing bar/restaurant. We went for the Club Steak for two, it was perfectly cooked (medium) and the choices of dressings was also good. The staff was super friendly and always around if you needed something (unlike other...recommended places here in Hamburg). Definitely worth a visit.

I lived several years in hamburg and this is my favorite place for a cozy Sunday brunch. they have various unique and creative options such as roasted goat cheese with honey and crumbs, various antipasti, really crispy brot, many homemade salads such as lenses, tomato, green aspersgus. but also many sweet options. they can bake their own waffle or enjoy the warm berry apple crispy or fresh fruit salad.

it was a good evening with an excellent meal. the carving of the calf was prepared as it should be. the meat was tender, the panade had the right consistency and fulfilled its task as a taste companion. the saltimbocca with green spa was of excellent quality and in taste an absolute pleasure. the service staff worked professionally and extremely friendly. we were the first time in this restaurant and like to come back.

Yep. It's good!! That means... Good atmosphere, even when it was only half-full in the early evening, midweek. It filled up more later and had a friendly hum. Good service. Well attended to and responded to questions and requests with good courtesy. Good food arrived...promptly. Took the steak, as did others, and all impressed. The menu was quite short, but the results impressed. Would return again. Even if the company don't pay!

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
