"I was really impressed by the deco, which is at the same time noble and purist, as the Nordic countries like. our table had a breathtaking view of the elbe with sailboats and commercial ships, but I really concentrated on the taste of the individual dishes. everything revolves more about quality products than techniques such as molecular food, even with tradition and modern, as they expect from a great chef. thomas martin says that it is important what they see, what they get, and that they need to feel the taste of each ingredient, and it is really what it is, a first-class French gastronomic experience in a modern Nordic style, and it was an unforgettable lunch. my 5-course lunch began with a beautiful appetizer, among them first-class homemade pommes, satin with salt, fresher sawn with citrus fruits and white rettich as well as salmon caviar. fresh and light. the sommeliers choose for us a wonderfully discreet mineral German giant from old barrels that they find only at jacob. it was really appropriate for all the dishes we had. the first court was really a local feeling: salmon trout with ingwer, apple, staudensellerie, dill and rettich. it was delicate and fresh with the spirit of the local kitchen on French gastronomic wise. the second was more surprising: the famous French woofer soup was reopened and was really top in comparison to a woof soup that a French star chef had done in her suppe menu. the third was grilled makerel with tomatenmarmelade, couscous, Greek yogurt, very nice in the presentation, but less tasty than expected in the combination of the ingredients and with a lack of crispy, even if it was a Star Chef dishes. the fourth was the fried rucksack in a spicy coat with champignons, kirschen, kohlrabi, pomme dauphine. it was a jewel that tells me that thomas martin is at the level of the French 3 stars in the michelin and a cult chef in Germany. for the dessert, strawberry, Baiser-Champagner, the sommelier has again made a great choice, a German sweet wine but far more subtle than a muscat, not far from the legendary château d’yquem. this amazing taste of this German wine is due to the fact that the grape harvest is very late. unfortunately this must be for wine lovers exklusiw in restaurant jacob. it was a great moment for gourmets and an experience in hamburg, even if they have to book far ahead, as the locals appreciate this restaurant."

my man and I had an excellent dinner at this restaurant. excellent eating, very continental in the approach. strong wine card. attentive service. has accommodated us every time, although we arrived late and without reservation. the room was very nice and appealing.

rewarding. the tatar is a beautiful looking dish, and the adorable is delightful. very classic and traditional. a bit sticky, but highly recommended. if you want a more accessible option, the small brother "small jacob" is a kind of wine cellar with the worst service and eat, but lively and very relaxed.

the kitchen here was delicious. I would recommend it particularly conservative palate. the individual components are prepared classically, but served in small snacks, revitalized by variations and rounded with carefully selected flavors. happy service. the seat cushions are rather hard and convex (typical padding technique of the 19th century). the room is attractive and has a view of the river, but it is quite loud and open, not intimate. had the tasting menu with wine tasting. everything was exquisite, although we asked the succession of the dishes, for example a delicate wolf bass after the very strong taste of a lobster soup. also the sherry pairing with the biscuit – although classic – was a bit wrong at the place. nice service, although the water was poured out from large height and thereby a little splashed. just a little more effort in detail would make it a perfect culinary experience.

we were lucky to get a table on Friday night, as we had not booked in advance. (we were in the hotel). we all had the steak (small portions for us, great for the men). they were all excellent - perfectly prepared with just enough ingredients and a delicious sauce. when we arrived, we were offered little appetizers, and after our main dish a car with seductive little cake came by. mother-in-law and I couldn't resist the apple. this was for two people, but it was big enough for father-in-law and husband to crack something. also indescribable. the personal was attentive, without being excessive. all in all an evening that will remain in memory for a long time. tipp: reserve a table in advance....

my wife and I spent an extended weekend in hamburg in the hotel louis jacobs that we joined a business trip. some friends recommended both the hotel and the restaurant and we were thrilled by both recommendations. our experience in the restaurant was fantastic. the dining room has an atmosphere of the old world, but it didn't feel sticky at all. the service was right - the waiter was engaged, but did not exceed it. I had a fantastic wild dish - with a perfectly prepared piece wildbret, which was wrapped in a juicy dish. there were in two sizes and I chose the smaller size, which was a good idea, because the food was rich. it also made space for a dessert, which was fantastic. we both had a w... TL;DRIf you are looking for an upscale culinary experience, this is not the right place for them. for us is a dinner the same thing others think for a concert or a stand-up show. it's not just about eating. it is more about having an experience. the evening meal is an experience that can last up to 4 hours and remains in memory for many years. we arrived and everything seemed normal. we were immediately announced with the menu and asked for a few minutes to take a look at it. we had waited about 10 minutes until someone came to us to pick up the order. the attempt to give someone attention was not easy. We usually take the tasting menu, but we weren't too enthusiastic, so we ordered 3 and to...

we were here to introduce my friend to the upscale kitchen. the expectation was a classic restaurant with classic food touched by modern techniques. In summary, they have really met and surpassed my expectations. When we arrived, our moms were immediately brought to the wardrobe if we wished this, and we were led to our table, after we had received some options depending on the desired view (on this Sunday) evening was not fully booked) our experience began with an incredible view over the elbe painted with the beautiful orange colors of the sunset. after ordering the 6-course menu, our experience continued. the service was unbelievable, attentive and professional with exactly the right amou...
