Went with a group of students and enjoyed our meals and service. Staff could not have been any more accomidating. Would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to experience authentic german food.

The Alt-Berliner Wirtshaus is a rustic restaurant with many regional dishes where everyone finds something. The ambience is stylish, the operation attentive and nice. We like to be here for an unattended meeting with friends. Ver carta

Good basic German food. Cute ambiance and friendly service. My companion especially liked no. 52, sweet potatoes with chicken, peppers and vegetables. I had the schnitzel no. 42 which was basic but good. Generous servings as is almost always the case in Germany.

I enjoy a good potato-themed restaurant. It's in lovely neighborhood, the Nicolai Quarter, and the shady outdoor patio if far nicer than the weird, wooden inside. I only had a starter, a potato pancake with smoked salmon, but it was pretty good. Service was friendly and they helped me with both the language and the allergen menu. Nice place to stop while wandering the area.
